Spent 3 nights over Easter in this delightful house situated in attractive grounds on the side of Derwentwater. Rooms are recently refurbished and tastefully decorated. All facilities for a walking or non walking holiday in the lakes are provided. The all important drying room is most efficient. The meals are varied and should cater for all tastes with ample quantities....

This hotel is beautifully situated next to the lake, the views are stunning. Rooms are recently refurbished and very pleasant with high ceilings and modern decor. Food was fabulous, staff are very friendly. Each day a packed lunch was included with a wide choice of fillings, breads and snacks. A good variety of walks for all abilities is on offer...

Booked last minute through HF Holidays. We were slightly younger than the festive group demographic but were made to feel really welcome. Choice of 3 graded walks a day with the hard walks bagging Wainwright summits and braving gale force winds! Delicious food & packed lunches including the provision of wheat free. Newly refurbished rooms and a drying room (stocked...

What a fabulous place to stay. Truly glorious location. Great bedrooms. Beautifully appointed & spotless. The food was excellent but what you remember is the friendliness of the staff & how helpful they are. Good drying facilities & very nice to be able to walk into Keswick. Can't fault it. We went as a couple , not as part of...

The group activities are very well run and the facilities, eg boot and drying rooms, packed lunches and evening entertainment are excellent. The hotel and its facilities may also be used by others. We are a...

I thought the Hotel was good and the facilities and little extras for people wishing to walk or cycle were also well prepared, ie; packed lunches, walking guides for three different levels of walks. Position was very favorable, rooms were clean, and the food was generally good and the staff were also helpful and pleasant . Did not think the...

We took the long way walk from Braithwaite to Portinscale before heading into Keswick. My wife spotted the sign near to the boating area so we followed it. The Hotel is set in lovely grounds and we easily found our way to the front where there were a couple of tables free on the patio. First impressions were that the...

The Derwent Bank is a lovely hotel on the shores of the Lake. We had a top floor room which was very clean and modern with nice views. Breakfasts were good . We didn't try the Evening Meals as we personally preferred to eat in Keswick where there was plenty of choice . We had a coffee in the cafe...

I travel solo a lot and join up with walking and/or cycling groups. Derwent Bank is amongst my favourite places to stay and I will go back time and time again. The rooms have been recently refurbished, the bar and dining areas are very pleasant as is the conservatory. The views of the lake and the beautiful gardens make this...

Lovely clean hotel in a fantastic location but unfortunately everything else was poor. I booked for two nights b & b basis for a romantic break with my husband, but the hotel does not cater for couples at all, we were told we could eat in the lovely restaurant in the evening but only option was a set 3 course...
