We stayed one night. The room is spacious, clean. It is value for money. The hotel is nicely decorated with tropical style of interiors. But we did encountered some mosquitoes issues in the room, and it might be because we stayed at ground floor. The hotel did provide mosquitoes repellents in the room.

Hotel is nice and clean and quiet, Free wifi, good sized rooms with coffee making facilities and friendly staff (though English is very limited)
Down sides to this hotel is no pool, no onsite restaurant so no breakfast no room service. Though this is a growing rural town.

We arrived at City Park Hotel at 5 a.m. and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We were able to arrange for an early check-in. My travel partner spoke Thai but I noticed over the course of our stay that some staff also spoke English. The service was friendly, always helpful, and never failed to greet us with a smile. We upgraded to a VIP room since the price was very reasonable. The room was spacious, clean, and bright. Air conditioning worked as expected, bed was a king, and bathroom was standard toilet with stand-up shower. Two towels, two washcloths, and soap / shampoo were provided and replenished as needed. The hot water is a little tricky in the shower because the rooms use single on-demand water heaters. If you want warm or hot water you need to reduce the overall flow of water so the hot water is not diluted by excess cool water. Once we figured that out we were satisfied. A modern coffee shop is attached to the hotel and it opens at 8 a.m., and an independent eatery is located just across the street. Overall, a friendly and comfortable outpost in southern Thailand.

The hotel is quite new and rooms are really spacious. Front desk is a bit slow and English is not well spoken. Rooms are nicely decorated and have enough desks, chairs, pillows etc. TV has Thai-channels only. No breakfast is offered but restaurants and shops footsteps away. Walking to the city center is also possible.

I rode my motorcycle through Phatthalung and was searching for a simple hotel to stay in that had safe parking facilities for my motorcycle.
The carpark was right in front of the hotel and situated such that everything was in view. While it didn't have a gate for security, the lighting and presence of the security guard made it safe. (Of course I took no chances and still did due diligence for locking and covering up the bike.
I asked for a ground floor unit that was non-smoking and they were able to accommodate me. There was no need to climb stairs with all my equipment.
ROOM The room was very spacious at THB800/night. No breakfast. There were no safes in the room, so lockable luggage would be helpful. There was a long desk along with the TV console and side-table area. Air conditioning was good. However, there was a strong mildew scent that lingered practically through the night. It disappeared by morning (either that or I got accustomed to it). Toilet was spacious. Lighting was generous.
STAFF The staff were polite but unintrusive. Most of the communication in the room was in Thai. It gave me a sense that the hotel catered to Thai tourists. Or perhaps Phatthalung itself held more for Thai tourists.
ENVIRONMENT There is the Beatles' Cafe just opposite. nice western-styled homey decorated restaurant. Food and drinks were reasonably priced. There are a few eateries around the hotel but by and large catering to locals. Shops closed around 8pm.
I chose this place because the shops stayed open longer that at Centris Hotel (previously known as Central Hotel) where shops around were closed by 6:30 when I arrived. (But I read that it is superior at the same rates. It had a spa too, where City park did not.)
Overall, it was good. Most of all, my bike was safe.:-) I felt that the carpark gave me a safer sense than Centris Hotel.

Rushing by on Highway 4, which skirts the town, Phattalung seems a typical one-road town. This time I decided to make Phattalung my night-spot while visiting Thale Noi Waterbird Park. Just 20 minutes away on a quiet a rural road Phattalung (and City Park Hotel) was a surprisingly good choice, compared to the resorts around the lake itself.
City Park is a simple, no frills hotel with ample parking up front. Only 5 years old, it has been scrupulously maintained. Clean, large rooms with good wifi and free coffee was all I needed for a good night's sleep. The tile floors make it a little noisy if the hotel is full but City Park is certainly value for money.
The hotel restaurant does not serve breakfast but right across the road there's a simple food court and here are numerous stalls a little further, so meals were never a problem. For lunch and dinner there's a nice restaurant that serves western and Thai cuisine in a comfortable environment.
Phattalung is a low priced, high value stop along the north-south route, especially if you're driving up from Malaysia. I'll be back.

Not easy to find but with the help of some nice people we did. The entrance and parking very well made. The room was big, clean and we payed 1000 thb. No breakfast but a nice spot to have it at the opposite of the hotel. Nearby good steakhouse and a modern restaurant in the same street.

Stayed one night on 23 Nov, big room, comfortable bed, location a bit off, but there's enough choices of food outlets nearby. Fairly new hotel, clean bedroom, usual stuff provided, ample car parking. Overall, will stay again

The friendly staff check us in very quickly, fuss free. Plenty of parking so that is no worry.
The hotel has a cafe but I think it only opens after 8am or something like that. There are eateries nearby, a few Dim sum shops. So that was OK.
The room were spacious and every thing works, clean and comfortable as well.
Had a good stop over on my motorcycle trip
