Lovely tranquil place. We had a great stop over on our way to Cape Town from DBN, they happily accommodated our dogs as well. The unit was well furnished and really cosy. I highly recommend the stay. Great stop for anyone traveling with horses too.

Like most people I guess we were just passing through for a day. However, this is a great little spot a few miles outside Colesburg. The room was very nicely furnished and full of interesting bits and pieces. There is a lovely little bar to have pre dinner drinks and the owners are good people to have a chat with....

Unlike many people we talk to my wife and I enjoy the long drive from the centre of South Africa (Johannesburg) to the Western and Eastern Cape. The perfect halfway stop for us is this hostelry. The Stables are refurbished stables that were used when the farm bred and raised race horses. Now they provide a relaxed and very pleasant...

Very friendly & helpful staff especially since we only checked in at 21h00... Stayed at the paddocks self catering units big enough for two couples. Cozy & well furnished, the electric blankets are a very nice touch. Definitely worth it!!!

Comfortable beds. Play area for the children...

We have stayed at a number of places to break the journey from Gauteng to Western Cape. Kuilfontein is by far the best option that we have found. Quaint converted farm cottages as rooms, three course set menu with local lamb starring, inclusive of wines. Excellent choice of breakfast. Very pleasant management who make visitors feel very welcome. Peaceful setting,...

I overnighted at The Paddocks on the Kuilfontein Farms estate just two weeks ago. Situated in its own oasis a little way off the N1 just before Colesberg in the middle of the Karoo on the way back from Cape Town, this is a gem of a place that you should definitely experience for yourself. There are three different accommodation...

Having spent 4 weeks in South Africa we chose Kuilfontein as a place to chill out before starting on the long trip home. What a good decision. Situated not far off the N1, this is a wonderful place to stay and it was so relaxing to sit with a drink under the clear Karoo sky and to chat to other...

I actually am loath to write about Kuilfontein as I am so worried I will never get back in. My husband and I will drive through South Africa instead of flying just to stay at this wonderful halfway stop betweek the Cape and Joburg/Durban. The Southey family have lived in the Karoo for hundreds of years and thankfully they have...
