Ok so this is an expensive place to stay to not have a toilet etc in the room and to have to put on more clothes than I ever have to go to bed and to wake up cold, but WOW what an experience. The igloo and all the sculptures are just magical, it really is a feat of engineering.... More

My husband and I stayed at the ice hotel on 14th March. On arrival we were given a tour of the adjoining hotel which is beautiful and then taken inside the ice hotel where we slept. We booked through the cruise and probably would never have considered the experience if this trip hadn't been offered. (there were 8 of us... More

We visited the Igloo Hotel but did not stay overnight - staying is very expensive and, frankly, at my age I value my comforts! However the ice carvings are very spectacular and should not be missed. Every year the theme of the decorations is different so this is a visit which could be repeated. You also get an included drink... More

Booked Snow Mobiling on line, which we did in the night. This was from the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. Much cheaper than through the cruise company. Picked up in Alta. Provided with all the gear and were out for over 2 hours. Our guide was a very pleasant man called Hans. Afterwards he gave us a tour of the Igloo Hotel... More

An amazing experience in an amazing hotel. Get there early to enjoy the hotels own toboggan run and go snow shoeing and kick sledding on the Alta river (in wintertime obviously). Wrap up warm and go outside and enjoy the Northern Lights is nature is on your side. Enjoy.

A season of only 4 months requires a lot of dedication. The result is impressive. Good accommodation. Lots of detailed ice carving. Ice bar, with ice glasses. Sleeping in reindeer hides. (Ok, with a sleeping bag). Friendly, and extremely helpful staff. I'm glad we stayed here for the night.

Visited this place whilst on a cruise. Took a taxi from the tourist office in town. Lovely drive through the snowy mountains. Costs about £20 to get in and so worth it. Once inside the ice sculptures are out of this world. Got to see the two suites and the other guest rooms. There is even a chapel where you... More

This an extraordinary experience to spend a night in a hotel made of snow and ice and to have a drink at the icebar in a glas made of ice. Excellent restaurant with unexpected high quality gourmet meals. The breakfast was the best I ever had and the service in the restaurant was excellent as well. We stayed in a... More

From the outside it seems a little boring but walk through the door and wow! There's a wedding chapel, bridal suite, many bedrooms, a bar and more. Each year there is a theme. This year there were trolls everywhere. The skill and talent put into this is amazing.
