GOOD: There is a very nice classic and traditional atmosphere in the hotel. Clean rooms, a smile at the reception and a good breakfast buffet. BAD: Maybe an English menucard would make things a little bit easier when eating here in the evening.

We checked in late and they were ready for us. The next morning we had to depart pretty early to go hike to the pulpit and hit the breakfast right as it opened. First class breakfast, we loved it. The room was comfortable and the bedding was very nice. Staff was great.

Me and my husband celebrated our wedding at the hotel and stayed overnight at their wedding suit. The service and staff there were amazing, never experienced such impeccable service and hospitality before. They went the extra mile to be at our service. The place gave an old historic and rustic feel to it, it was a very cozy hotel. The... More

I guess you'd say it was a true guest house from yesteryear. Seems popular with the engineering workers of nearby Stavanger. We took dinner which was OK but expensive. Breakfast good and included in the tariff. Many staff. Rooms smallish with jaded wallpaper. Most entertaining thing was watching the robo-mower go about its business.

My wife and I stayed at Kronen Gaard for 10 days in June, 2016, so it was our "home away from home" for many days while visiting family in the Sandnes area. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, especially since we were unable to get our US based smart phone to work. The staff were our godsend as... More

One of Norway's "Historical Hotels", Kronen Gaard is charming and full of tradition. However, rooms are (not surprisingly) small, albeit well appointed. The grounds are similarly small but worth strolling. Staff were competent but not particularly warm or welcoming. In other words, this is a pleasant but "missable" experience...except for dinner. Dinner is a white-tablecloth affair, with excellent wait staff... More

We had a family happening here with a three course dinner setup. For some, including myself I were to stay at the hotel after the family happening. First, food and staff are great. The main course beef was so tender and good. I myself was quarted in a single bed room, which is quite okay since it's only me. Others... More

We had a large comfortable room with a very good double bed and a view of the garden. The food was very tasty and we had summer buffet and a big breakfast next day. Our friends popped in to visit us and we enjoyed a drink in the garden room. We always book at this hotel when we visit Sandnes... More

Stayed her while visiting with work and it's really refreshing to stay somewhere other than the usual hotel chains. This place has real character about it. I stayed in one of the outside rooms - almost like a little chalet - and there was plenty of room and everything was very clean and comfortable. The hotel restaurant is great too... More

For a reunion to be celebrated at the hotel, I decided to book a room for one night at the same place. And I do not regret it. The place had a warm atmosphere, the food was good. So was the service, and efficient. The hotel is located some distance from Sandnes, so, although you can take a txi from... More
