The hotel had lots of character and the double room had a sofa and chairs, which meant we could all gather as a family. We ate in the bowling alley attached to the hotel and although it was burger and pizza, the were freshly cooked, good portions and were delicious.

We did not plan to stop at Geilo, so when we did, we decided to try Dr. Holms hotel. We were not disappointed! Seeing three tourist buses outside, we were wondering whether they would have a room for us on a Sunday night. The receptionist was extremely helpful and pleasant, and we got a very nice and comfortable room. We...

Arrived at this grand and imposing hotel and completed a smooth check in. Room on the second floor was clean, with a large comfortable bed and functional bathroom. The hotel lobby, dining areas and bar were all impressive with items of interest on the walls. My overriding impression of this hotel was empty. We hardly saw any other guests or...

I am a solo traveller from Thailand, I bought a half broad package that includes dinner. The hotel is getting loads of Chinese buses who use their restaurant as part of the package.(maybe they have a special deal, while they pay less. I'm not sure) So what happened is the fact that look Asian, I was treated a second class...

Dr. Holms is a turn of the century railway hotel from a bygone age. It's passed through multiple changes of ownership but still impresses with its history, public rooms and charm. Very helpful staff and an excellent breakfast buffet. Rooms are a little quirky as is often the case in older properties and much of the furniture had seen better...

This is truly a place to stay when doing activities such as skiing in winter. We went in off season and the place was dead, which only served to exaggerate one's attention to the rooms as well as the staff. The rooms are old. Really old. While comfortable they could use updating with bedding, carpet, etc. The staff, though, are...

Previous reviews sum this hotel, that is dated but comfortable. I see they are building a new extension, great that they have kept it in the same style. For me the one thing that made this hotel stand out was the friendliness of the staff. Although we had booked a set meal for our group, they happily charged it to...

Visited as a couple in August 2016. The service at the reception is great, but they have a hotel that has not been restored for too long. The rooms are clean and beautiful, although simple. The bar area is also beautiful, but not so populated. The spa area was also lovely. The real disappointment was the buffet, both dinner and...

OK, maybe a lot dated. But it is an older hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, and the beds were really comfy. We stayed in the "haunted room", but we didn't see the ghost. We were hoping she would pay a visit, but we missed her. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of...

We found our experience at this hotel quite unpleasant. When we were checking in we asked if our room had a view of the valley and mountains and we were told by the receptionist quite proudly that the view was of the construction site just outside the window. We asked of the hotel was busy and she smiled at us...
