If you want a quiet location do not stay here, it has a beautiful view of the beach but the night life behind the inn will keep you up very late. Stayed at one of there other locations last year and it had noise problems but noting like this.

We stayed in the Diamond room which was good sized and had gorgeous views. The innkeeper and staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. You can't beat the location. Close to town and right on the beach. One caution. There are a couple of bars close by and the night we arrived one had a live band playing until 2....

The breakfast part was great. The room, meh. Small showers, pretty average accommodations for $300 a night. Rumor has it they are renovating--it needs it! Plus the noise from surrounding pubs was LOUD! It's located right near town, convenient in some ways, but super busy. Not the most relaxing spot. I would seek another place further outside of town for...

We stayed in the Pearl for a night then the Diamond for two nights. Both rooms were very comfortable. The location is perfect, just a short walk from ferry and a skip away from main street. Close enough to everything but off the beaten path enough for some quiet. Joanne and Sabrina couldn't have been nicer, we really felt pampered....

We returned to Block Island after 28 years and loved it so much that we booked for next year before leaving (something we've never done before). This boutique inn on the beach offers spectacular views of the water and amazingly gracious hospitality. Sabrina prepared a lovely breakfast, including fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, home made pastries and a different hot dish...

We had an excellent stay at the Avonlea and stayed in the Ruby room. The room was a bit on the smaller side but had a beautiful view of the oceanfront and we were very fortunate to get a reservation during the extremely busy holiday week. It was so nice to listen to the waves at night and view the...

We stayed in the Moonstone Room where we had a magnificent view of the ocean, could hear the waves crashing through the night, and awoke to a spectacular sunset. The room was comfortable, clean, with a very small bath down the hall (but private to the room as it's the only room on that floor). Upon arrival, I was a...

We love the Avonlea! It is a quiet, low key place to relax. Whether you want to sit on the amazing wrap around porch and read or walk around the island, it's a great place to stay. Even our room had a spectacular view of the ocean complete with the soothing sounds of the surf. The happy hour in the...

The Avonlea is located just off the main road and perfectly nestled on the beautiful black sand shores of the inlet. The views are simply stunning! The house is very pretty and very quaint. We stayed in the Jewel room which is nicely sized with a king bed, a day bed with trundle and a private bathroom. Slept 4 comfortably....

Stayed two nights at Avonlea in early June and greatly enjoyed the quiet of the place, sounds of the sea at night, and low-key presence of the hosts. We stayed in Moonstone room, top floor, and it is wonderful as long as you can manage the stairs. Strongly recommended for grown-up travelers.
