Spent three nights here. Hotel right in centre of this small hilltop village. They do not have a restaurant but there are plenty within walking distance, Room and bathroom were clean and functional, ours was overlooking the garden. Small pool but adequete. Did the local tour with English speaking guide which was excellent. Also fantastic opera in church in square,...

This is a very special hotel situated in the walled village of Monteriggioni. It is a haven of tranquility, somewhere to relax and unwind. We enjoyed it so much last year we visited again this summer. The owners make you feel like part of the family and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are cool, comfortable and spotlessly clean....

We were fortunate to enjoy the most delightful visit to the Hotel Monteriggioni on our recent visit to Umbria and Tuscany in June. We had briefly visited Monteriggioni the previous year whilst on a wine tour. We spied the Hotel and thought that it would be an idyllic option for a stay at some point. We were not disappointed! Being...

This family-run hotel is built into the medieval wall of the tiny town, with a pleasant outdoor area. Each room is different, but ours was small (and bath even smaller) though comfortable. Our windows overlooked the garden of an adjoining restaurant, which did make the evening rather noisy. An ample buffet breakfast was included in the room rate.

Very nice small size hotel located between Siena and Firenze. Surrounded by medieval wall and towers, it offers the essence of traditional Tuscany. A nice please to get lost from the world and get a good book and enjoying reading with the view of the Tuscan hills. Nice restaurants nearby. the place is so quite at this time of the...

A boutique hotel in the most amazing setting. Views of Tuscany valleys including the town of Chianti. The management are fantastic and very helpful even giving touring recommendations. The managers daughter, Martina, even helped us with train bookings. Great breakfasts with amazing fresh pastries. They have hundreds of TV channels but we did miss an English Channel. No CNN or...

If you want to sample the idyllic dream of life in a medieval Tuscan village, a few days here are about as close as you can get without splashing out on a villa. You feel pretty special when you drive through the narrow gate into the town..just a little different to the tourists traipsing up the hill from the parking...

The hotel is in an historic building which dictates the size of the rooms. However, they are well appointed and the bathrooms were adequate - though the shower was a bit of a squeeze. Added bonus - there is a small pool which was a treat, set in a small but pretty garden where breakfast is served. Our room overlooked...

This hotel is in an amazing location in the center of Monteriggioni a tiny medieval town on the top of a small hill. it is full of charme and it is worth to spend few days there. breakfast is good. The swimmingpool is really small and the rooms are not generous in terms of sqm.

This is not a fancy hotel, but it is lovely and serene. The owner (Gigi) is a great host. It's a perfect spot from which to explore the Tuscan countryside.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The building, which is in the heart of this charming medieval fortress, dates back to the 17th century and is now home to the superior 4 star Hotel Monteriggioni. The original architectural style has been preserved during the restoration, creating, together with the tasteful furnishings, a luxurious setting where guests can enjoy a private yet elegant atmosphere. Twelve luxury bedrooms – each with its own particular character – and “La Maison”, a most charming apartment, look out over the boundary walls made famous by Dante in his Divine Comedy. The centuries-old olive trees and the stone swimming pool in the garden offer our guests quiet areas for reading, enjoying a long breakfast or simply relaxing. The owners, Michela Gozzi and Luigi Cagnazzo, are always ready to answer any questions about the major Tuscan art cities and the ancient villages of the area. They can give useful advice about local events, city or airport transfers, guided tours and local excursions. ... more   less
