Detailed Reviews
Even with all COVID restrictions, we had a great stay !
First of all located in the Forrest, with excellent walking and cycling options .
The staff was absolutely fantastic, always willing to help and making sure that everything is organised perfectly.
As much as possible all guests where using one way walking and social 1,5 meter distancing!
Both restaurants where fabulous, great food , I would recommend the 10 course small dishes!

A beautiful, comfortable hotel located in the woods. It starts with your first contact to immediately feel at home somewhere. That's exactly how the lady at the front desk handled this. You will receive a hospitable welcome and then almost every staff member you meet will follow the same line. Nothing seems too much and everyone pampers you in his or her own way. Even our dog, which we brought with us, experiences the same hospitality. That is exactly what you can expect when visiting a hotel. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortably furnished. This was our second time where (almost) all rooms now have air conditioning. An asset after our overheated experience on the same date in 2022. The on-site restaurant is now managed by a new party. Thoroughly restyled and much more stylishly furnished. Our package menu has also improved drastically. The regular menu will not easily disappoint anyone and otherwise people will look for a suitable solution. What a beautiful 3-course dinner and delicious wines! Here too, we were received with fantastic enthusiasm and expert help in choosing our wine. We only have two downsides: the thin (summer) duvet is of a sultry quality and although the small terraces are framed with lots of greenery, I would like to see a little more separation for the dogs that are also welcome for the animals that like to 'go on a journey of discovery' (such as our curious buddy). Tip: add delicious jars of jam to your generous breakfast buffet instead. spoons that are too short, put down some longer sorbet spoons. This allows everyone to get to the bottom of a pot without too much mess. Until next time!

Extremely hospitable hotel where you can walk straight into the woods. Almost everyone appreciates you as a guest and it quickly feels like home. Our dog was also pampered and received his attention. Very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast. I would use longer (sorbet) spoons for the delicious different jams in jars to prevent stickiness and slickness. The restaurant should be mentioned similarly. Cosy, stylish space, beautiful and very tasty menus of very good quality. Great choice of wines too. The outdoor terraces are cozy and have the full attention of the serving staff. By the way, all these rooms look like they have recently been restyled.
We have been guests at Tjaarda twice now and it was more than worth the long drive from A'dam and will definitely be repeated.

What a wonderful hotel, beautiful location in the middle of a wooded area. Good parking. Very friendly employees, nice large rooms with French balcony. It's very nice that the windows have mosquito nets so you can leave them open at night without mosquitoes in the room. In warm weather there is air conditioning in the room. Both restaurants are also highly recommended for delicious food. Beautiful vegetarian dishes on the menu, good quality and very surprising other dishes. The bistro is also recommended, where you can also enjoy a delicious meal. And the breakfast is very complete and well taken care of

Hidden in the woods this spacious hotel which is apparently also used for business meetings. Great room with good bed and spacious bathroom with good walk-in shower. A very low and slightly awkwardly placed toilet bowl and a strange (leakage?) stain in the floor. Bistro with spacious terrace serves daily menu and al la carte. Daily menu reasonably priced and not unkind and main course at my request hassle-free and adjusted to your liking. Extensive drinks menu. Good breakfast. Staff very friendly and reasonably attentive. Nice hotel. Highly recommended.

Our arrival was pleasant and easy. The room was clean and up to date, however we did get a simpler room than we booked. The reception staff could not upgrade our room as the hotel was fully booked. We got compensation, a cocktail of the house before dinner and a bottle of wine at depart. The swimming pool is small, but sufficient for a relaxed swim. We had dinner at the inner Grand Café. Food was delicious and one should try their home brewn craft beer.

We had a spacious, comfortable room with a small balcony. Hotel is in a very remote, wooded setting with a charming appeal. Bar was small but lively. Breakfast was a generous buffet with hot items, pastries and choices of fresh juices - well worth it!

Beautiful hotel with a lovely swimming pool.
Good ambiance.
Restaurant beautiful dishes but real mistakes in the preparation. Leek on the steak tartare is undercooked so you spend a long time grazing on it. Not pleasant and a real waste of a potentially beautiful dish.
The potato with the main course was again undercooked and therefore unconsumable. Sauces really classic but too sweet (obviously a matter of taste). Dessert with duumkes, too many 'jellies', too much gelatin. Management very service oriented.

A beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Everything about our three night stay was perfect. Excellent buffet breakfast, delicious food at Grand Cafe bistro, comfortable beds, great storage in rooms. The hotel has recently been renovated and the rooms are up to a high end standard. We had great service from the entire staff. Gerbrich of the front desk staff was particularly helpful. She went above and beyond in getting us into the best room for our needs when we requested an upgrade. Always friendly with a beautiful smaller and she was so helpful in explaining the area and suggesting what we might do during our visit.

After many years, I spent a few nights in Tjaarda, Oranjewoud. Completely transformed in 2023 and that is something to be seen. The entire hotel has a contemporary and personal appearance. Our room was spacious, seating area, large table for reading and working. Good lighting. Bathroom with large shower area and rain and hand shower. Bathroom accessories from Scapa. Excellent beds. Safe, possibility to make tea and coffee (Nespresso), minibar. If there is any criticism to be made: the walk-in mat needs to be replaced.
The hotel has a Grand Café with original menu items and an excellent Marijke Muoi Restaurant serving refined and tasty dishes. Not cheap, but very well maintained. The vegetable menu is especially special.
