After our booking we only read the worst reviews about this hotel and we still took up the challenge.
The area is beautiful if you go for peace and nature because it is located in the middle of the forest. The hotel itself is indeed a bit back in time and when you check in you are asked at what time you will come for breakfast and/or dinner, in short, a holiday feeling. Which does not alter the fact that, to our surprise, breakfast and dinner were surprisingly good.
The room is quite dated, and the bathroom is nice for one person and was definitely missing a shower door, but I immediately understood the extra drain outside the shower. For people with a bad back I can advise taking a muscle relaxer with you, couples who still love and enjoy each other, this bed has also found something for that... you fall between the bed or because the mattress is so soft you slide off the mattress . The staff is aware of all these problems that can be read in the reviews and in my experience they are making the best of it, in any case we received friendly help from everyone in the hotel.

I arrived at the hotel around 4pm. The reception was very friendly the check-in process was very fast and effective. I was presented with a room on the 4th floor which could be accessed via stairs or an elevator. I opened the room to find dated decor but a spacious room for 1 person.

The bathroom was small and quite cramped it was stocked with towels. Shower gel and cups for water. The shower was clean but dated. The room was very warm as the hotel does not have air conditioning or provide fans within the room I asked at reception but they said they didn't provide them. It was 30 plus degrees so it made sleeping very difficult. There was no kettle or iron in the rooms which was disappointing for a 4* hotel. Overall the staff were very friendly but the hotel does need updating

We stayed for a day in zwolle while travelling with our bicycles. No problem to store the bike safely. There is also a secure parking at the back of the hotel. The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the centre of zwolle. I would give it 4 stars if it would have aircon.

Stay from Tue - July 18, 2023 to Tue - July 25, 2023

Upon arrival we were given room number 210. When we entered we were greeted by a very unpleasant smell, the curtains had several blood stains on them, the bathroom was very dirty and the floor of the whole room was also dirty.

As it turned out, this was not the room we had booked, we had booked a comfort room. This was just a double bed room, so we went down to reception and told them that this room was unreasonable and had not been booked, and we were given another room. Room number 223 was a comfort room as booked, but here too there was an unpleasant musty smell when we entered the room, apart from the beds and a few towels, nothing in the room had been cleaned.

The daily cleaning that is intended for this room was also poorly carried out. Garbage that was lying between the beds, clearly visible to the staff, was not picked up even after room service, but was simply left lying there, photos attached

Beautiful wooded area.
The room was very small and not cleaned properly, the tap was broken upon arrival.
Looks a bit neglected, the parking lights and cameras are broken or very outdated.
There were piles of leaves everywhere on the road, which was very slippery and dangerous, and was not removed every day with a leaf blower.
A women's football team from abroad came to visit, and completely different services and dinner were offered!
Breakfast buffet is standard, no fresh juice, but from a vending machine with a very chemical taste.
Swimming pool was cold also the water.
The dinner is far too expensive for what is offered, all very small portions at the main price, better to go to an all you can eat in the area, eat and drink for a fixed price which is also much cheaper!

We are back home from a weekend full of drama.

Room/hotel a big zero, room 122 what a doghouse that was so bad!!!. Bathroom so small that you don't know where to put anything, the shower tap is broken and almost no water comes out.

There is a crack in the door to the terrace, you can look outside, the carpet is too dirty to walk on with your bare feet, the beds need to be replaced.

The doors of the cupboard cannot even close properly, no cleaning seen?? so get your own towels at the counter, there was nothing wrong with the swimming pool except that the swimming water is too cold but the shower facilities had no soap and towels,

water that was too hot one moment and too cold the next.

Breakfast of 17.50 cheese and sausage, no luxury items, much too expensive, same for the room. We paid 247.50 for something that is so bad and that is a shame.

Chairs at the counter were sagging, everything at the bar was dated. Not only everywhere throughout the building, but even worse, it is not clean. In addition, it was cold everywhere, including the water in the swimming pool.

So you understand, we will never have a big drama again. Waste of money.

When paying for a few drinks I was asked if everything was okay, my answer was no. No further questions were asked, strange, very strange.

We knew in advance that the room was very small (not that it had been canceled). But we never dared to dream that the restaurant was so lousy.
Staff "I don't know what it is, so we don't have it", in response to ordering a Hefe Weizen, which is simply on the menu.
Cardboard pasta, minced meat with tomato puree, arugula and grated cheese on top: Pasta Carbonara. Many poor students may do it that way, but a restaurant chef?
If the location weren't so great, a dog wouldn't come here; oh no, they are actually welcome here ;-).

The room did not smell fresh upon entering and the bathroom also smelled musty. The shower cubicle door was missing, causing the floor and toilet to become wet. Our mattress was wider than the bed, so you had to be careful when turning over while sleeping.

Staff helpful and polite. Good breakfast with different times because of covid. When you join at a later time we experienced we had to wait 10 min. for croissants. The room was o.k. and clean. Easy to make biketrips from the hotel.

Well, the hotel is located in a green area, which is pleasant...
Free parking.
It is a pleasant hotel. The rooms are in need of modernization, and a mosquito screen in particular would not be out of place for ventilation....
But that aside, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast was good and more than sufficient, and the dinner in the evening also pleased us very much.... So, we had a very nice stay...
