We only spent one night with the Hogg's but it was lovely. The room was comfortable as was the bed. Breakfast was not only tasty but once they knew we enjoy conversation they were very friendly, helpful, informative and interesting conversationalists. It was a lovely stopover.

Jeff & Julie are wonderfully friendly hosts! We enjoyed much more then a simple one-night stay as we had access to a charming dining area to enjoy local smoked trout & mackerel for dinner, then a cozy night's rest followed by a delicious breakfast omelet (created by Chef Jeff) and a morning filled with conversation about local artisans and where...

We had a lovely night in the small, cozy room on the first floor. The bed and sheets were very clean, and very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast-- "Chef Jeff's" omelette was fantastic. The owners were warm, welcoming, eccentric, chatty and very keen to help. A fun, if quirky, place to stay in Sheet Harbour.

We arrived to find that the host had forgotten our booking, but found that she had the room cleaned anyway. We were so taken aback by her demeanor and disorganization, that we actually looked around for an alternative. Unfortunately at the last minute there were none. We returned to the room after dinner. It was small, but very clean. The...

We stayed here on our motorcycle trip from Michigan to Nova Scotia. What a treat! The room was nicely decorated and clean and cozy. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts were super friendly. We spent two nights at Back in Thyme and found the hosts Jeff and Julie to be very friendly and more than willing to provide information on what to do during our visit to Sheet Harbour. We stayed in the Rose Room on the ground floor of their pre 1900 home and found it very comfortable and quiet. The ensuite...

We decided to unwind for a night, before we made our way up to Cape Breton, in Sheet Harbour. The Back'N Thyme was perfect. The accommodation was cozy and clean but the highlight for us was the warmth and of Julie & Jeff and of course Jeff's famous omelette.

We arrived a little earlier than expected but received a very warm welcome. Coffee was immediately offered and we were invited to relax in the homely comfortable family lounge where we enjoyed convivial conversation with Jeff, Julie and their friends. We had the Apple Blossom room which was very comfortable and the shared bathroom was superbly equipped. The Apple Blossom...

We spent one night at Back in Thyme whilst travelling around Nova Scotia , and were delighted with the warmth and friendliness of our welcome. Our en-suite room was on the ground floor and very comfortable. The bathroom was not large, but perfectly adequate. We spent part of the evening socialising with Julie, Jeff and Matthew, and thoroughly enjoyed their...

We stayed in the Rose Room while in Sheet Harbour for a wedding. Our stay at Back in Thyme was excellent. The omlette was the best I ever tasted, our hosts could recommend plenty of activities whenever we needed information, the room was charming, clean, and had a good view of the backyard and nearby river. The day after the...
