Me and my partner chose this hotel because of the pool. When we arrived the staff told us it was closed due to a wedding. We had already prepaid and there was nothing else to do there. The staff was unfortunately not helpful at all....More
This is a magnificent property, set atop a hill, occupied briefly by Napoleon. The views of Rome and surrounding countryside are panoramic.
Rooms vary between cozy to spacious, with a semi-modern sensibility, very modestly priced. They are reminiscent of a Sheraton or Best Western, and...More
This hotel is one of the grand Ville Tuscolane, built mainly for cardinals in the 16th century on the hills above Frascati. And if you want palatial surroundings, at least in the public areas, this is the hotel to choose. However, at the reasonable prices...More
Set high above the town, this is a stunning building with wonderful interiors and gardens.
Being part of a group, we expected to be allocated one of the more basic rooms, but were still disappointed with the lack of attention to detail by the hotel,...More
The hotel is on top of a hill. Beautiful view , historical, quiet. I guess in summer you can escape the hot and humid weather here.

I am concerned by some of the reviews which I am reading which refer to very sub standard rooms, I am booking on behalf of a group of 11 and I am really covered about ending up with rooms which the group will find unsatisfactory. I usually read through all reviews ant always try to discount ones which appear to be extreme, however there are a few too many for me to ignore, very poor lighting, air conditioning not working, very noisy rooms, very small cramped rooms are leading to be reluctant to take a chance on this hotel. How can I be reassured ?

As JockeSthlm said, the surroundings of the hotel and the common areas are very nice. There are serious problems with some rooms and general service, though. I have seen a few of those and in general double rooms look better than those meant for single occupation. In general, I found the hotel highly overpriced for what it was. If the prices were half what they were I probably would have accepted lack of hot water on several occasions or loud music at night (among others). I will not stay there again myself. Not good value for money!

"Ask for a room at the front overlooking Rome. Our room, 413, was on a corner and had double aspect windows."
