We have visited this wonderful place many times over the years and cannot express how much we love it! The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Harz region by car or commuter train (UNESCO towns Wernegerode, Quedlinburg, Goslar, etc), but it's great just to relax in the lovely rooms, cozy bar or peaceful pool/spa area. Most importantly: the friendly...

We had a weekend with friends here. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was good, you could order eggs and omelette. There were newspapers and a nice view to the pond. The food in the evening was good. But...there is not really much to do here....the sauna area is quite small, one 90 degrees sauna for about 9-10 people...

Really nice staff, great breakfast especially if it's warm outside, so you can enjoy the meals directly at the lake. Small but really nice SPA area with everything you need. Including three sauna's (one is outside, so in winter you can jump into the snow afterwards) a turkish steam bath, ice shower and relaxing area. THEY SERVE DRAFT BEER in...

The Landhaus "zu den Rothen Forellen" is a classic hide-away in the beautiful Harz region. Large rooms, classic furniture, separate WC and bathroom, impeccable service. As the hotel is distributed in different buildings on one campus, expect a little challenge if you search your room the first time unaccompanied by the hotel staff. Good news is, there is enough decentral...

A small luxury hotel where you least expect it. I spent several nights on various occasions in this lovely hotel. The staff was really friendly, the food is outstanding. In summer you can have your meals on the terrace overlooking the pond. Wonderful. In one room you can see a little creek running through it ( covered with glass ,...

I have stayed and the Landhaus several times over the past ten years and must say it's one of my favorite places in Germany. Enjoy hiking, relaxing, excellent dining and great service any time of the year. Great value and worth the travel time to get there.

Overnight stay on a 6 six weeks tour staying in 20 different hotels. I think that I can compare. This is a good hotel but too expensive. Very friendly welcome by the receptionist. Nice large room but bad smell when we entered. Small bathroom. Free bottle of Sekt that we don't like so we left it untouched. Good restaurant but...

We were with a group at this hotel recently, and we loved the place. We were greeted by a very attractive, pleasant and professional receptionist. She showed us to our room which was beautiful. The breakfasts were superb, everything imaginable was on offer. There is a superb swimming and leisure complex, also a lovely decking area overlooking a large lake...

This area (Harz Mountains) is not well known outside Germany, but well worth exploring. We were very pleased with our choice of hotel (and it IS a hotel, make no mistake - not sure why TripAdvisor have it listed as a B&B and Inn?). On the pricey side, but it is a lovely spot, by a small lake on the...

The setting of this luxury health resort is one of the most beautiful my wife and I found on our driving trip through Germany, Scandinavia and the Baltic states. It is romantic, charming, restful and little known in America, situated as it is in Ilsenburg in the Harz Mountain area. We'll always remember sipping wine on their lawn overlooking a...
