When I go to Pahang to visit my cousins, I stop-over by the Tras Mutiara Hotel Bentong. The hotel has some basic facilities for the guests. when I stay here, I feel that the surrounding was quiet and the floor was clean. For overall, nice place to stay0over when looking for mid-range hotel.

I attended a friends wedding on 8th Feb 2014 and found this hotel very convenient. The location is about 4 minutes or 3KM away from the town. You will have to pass the Chamang waterfall turnoff and take the left turn after a petronas petrol station on the left. The hotel is located just next door to Old town coffee which is very good as you can have kopi tiam meals there in the morning for breakfast and others. There is a massage parlor on the other side of the hotel (which looks a bit dodgy). The hotel staff are kind, helpful and attentive. There is a 7-eleven at the back of the hotel (near the main road). We had packed some food back and old town coffee staff were kind enough to provide us plates, fork and spoons even though we did not buy the food from them! We were very impressed so the next day we had breakfast there. We had lunch in SHL restaurant and the food was excellent (it's just at the back of the market). We bought ginger from the market ($18 per kg), tau foo ($0.70 per piece) - large piece, petai pealed ($5 for a handful) and mangoes $9 for 1kg (3 fruits). Its a nice town to visit and worth checking out chamang waterfalls. The wedding was held in a private resort called Lau's retreat which is off the map and near the toll area but cannot be booked as it is owner occupied.

Took a family room for 4 persons. Although the room is not big but it's well maintained, with clean toilet and bed sheets. We did not experience any itchiness or discomfort sleeping in their bed. Keep up the good work!

Stayed here with not much choice as we were attending an engagement party nearby. Not wanting to party and drive a long distance back to KL, we paid RM99 per room, for a 2 tiny rooms that were unclean. The rooms smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, there were hairs in the toilet and even on the pillow and bed. Then the was a medium sized cockroach happily climbing the wall. The water pressure in the toilet was poor and u can hardly get a decent shower.
(I should have turned around and ran for my life but after the landslide on the Karak highways, going back was barely an option)
We came back after the party at 1am and were to tired with people shouting, screaming, banging doors the whole night. We didn't get any sleep and packed up and left as soon as there was some light.
The staff at the reception was courteous enough upon check in and at checkout but when I told her why don't they help keep the noise down she merely said 'sorry but there are a lot of people': I don't care if there were a lot of people, you could at least keep the noise down at night.

Was in Bentong for the Merdeka weekend. The room we had was a triple bed. Generally it's a simple room - having the basic most furnishing -TV with astro, air con, hot shower and wifi. The air con was a little slow in cooling down, but other than that, the rest are okay for a night or 2 nights stay. It's located after the Chamang waterwall junction and the main marker for this hotel would be the Petronas Station before the hotel. There's an Old Town Coffee shop downstairs, 24 hour self service dobi, 7-11 and a mini mart nearby.

I reached this hotel at 9pm with my colleague, for business trip.

Location wise, I think it's great- with restaurants, petronas, 7e nearby the area. But;

The air conditioner is not properly working.

Shower curtain is dirty.

Toilet is not that clean (I saw baby cochroaches on the floor)

The rest is ok; very basic.

Good location. Despite the fact of this hotel is a bit hidden from the old town of bentong, guest will not be disappointed with this hotel. It is new and conveniently located with ample parking space and eateries outlet nearby. Recommended for business travellers with a hectic day.

As my wife & I has heard from a mutual friend about some good food hidden in Bentong, we then both decided to check ourselves in to Tras Mutiara for a night's stay. It was meant to be an eating frenzy getaway so accommodation was not on the top of our priority list.

Tras Mutiara is a budget hotel about 15 mins drive from the exit off Karak. There is an Old Town Kopitiam located right below the hotel & one the other end, a chinese restaurant which serves up a fiery curry laksa for lunch. There is also a pub located on the same row so noise could be a problem for those light sleeper who has the healthy habit of sleeping early.

The room we got was tiny but very clean. Comes with a wall mounted LCD TV & attached bathroom with hot & cold shower. The windows was not as sturdy & thick as we would have liked it to be but that didn't really bother us as the hotel is not facing the main road.

Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we will definitely come back again especially when we are onlu paying a tad less then RM100 for the basic but clean & comfy room.

Stay for 3 nights here. Sleep at the room with window. Close window but still can listen the vibration from pub beside. Friends get room without window, full of smoke smell same goes to the corridor. Got big red ants wondering around the room. Water boiler, iron and hair dryer must share with the rest 11 of us cause they don't have enough.Only 2 500ml water being add in everyday. Tissue and restroom kit not being refill. Accident happen to me since I step on the screw on the board that drop down from the TV cabinet during midnight. Not so friendly manager that denied that is their fault. Friends' room the board don't even exist and being remove away. The only good things is got Oldtown. Chinese and Malay food beside. And better looking hotel at that area.

Check in was quick and efficient although we arrived in the night. Room was clean, with hot water heater, working aircon, wifi. It was also reasonably quiet unless people were outside the door.

I had to go out early in the morning and there was a mamak stall at the far end of the block that's 24 hours. So early morning breakfast was convenient.

Car parking is roadside just outside of the hotel. I had a bicycle so I brought it in and they allowed me to chain lock it within the ground floor premises.

I asked for an additional key and was given one with no fuss.

So a good, clean no frills hotel. Only missing a hot water kettle if you wanted to boil water for coffee or if you had a baby.

Room Tip: Get a room further from the elevator as it lessens the human traffic outside the thin doors.
