I have read a few other reviews and I would like to clear a few things up for people looking to choose a place to stay in Raja Ampat: - Raja Ampat is extremely expensive because the government levies high taxes on stays here. The level of tax depends on the ownership - foreign owned = highest, Indonesian owned but...

Stayed at Hamueco for 7 Days and 6 Nights, purely for diving purposes. i did not join them on the trips to wayag and pianemo where you have to pay extra, but the diving kept us busy and happy enough. The rooms in Hamueco are decent. perfect for 2 pax. we had 3 pax in one room, but it was...

Because of the quite high price for accommodation and diving my husband and me expected something inbetween a homestay and a real dive resort. But we came across a basic homestay. The food: The same food the whole week: spiny and dry-fried small tunas with rice, water spinach and sambal 2 times a day, and fried banana for breakfast. On...

This is eco friendly resort, if you take direct speed boat, it's only about 100 minutes from Sorong harbour. Located at Saleo beach, Waigeo island. You can rent dive gears here and they will arrange your diving trip with a professional dive master. Nice friendly house staff and boat men. Unforgetable staying there !

Found out about Hamueco from Tripadvisor, decided to book because of the good reviews. Not disappointed at all. You take a ferry from Sorong (check the schedule first) then the resort pick you up from the port by boat (for a fee). We have friends in Raja Ampat so we were driven there by car. The trip was challenging, because...

Hamueco is an Indonesian run resort in Raja Ampat close to Waisai. The hosting couple is very lovely, the rooms are on a dock over the water. There is electricity for only six hours a day though and shower and toilets are shared. No sinks. The divemaster is very good, offering diving trips around the area. Since he studied oceanography...

We stayed here for the 5day package trip with friends and what an experience it was! Raja Ampat is a must see place for people who love snorkeling and diving, even if you're a beginner or first timer. We like this place because it feels very down to earth, like a true life by the beach. Sure it can get...

I routinely travel to Raja Ampat for work, and HamuEco is my favorite place to stay! Raja Ampat doesn't have too many options for accommodation- either very basic homestays, fancy resorts or Indonesian-style hotels, but HamuEco is the perfect mix of homestay, eco-consciousness and comfort. The bungalows over water aren't luxury, but super clean, comfortable bedding, quiet and a view...
