Just returned from a short break at the Eltermere Inn with my wife. A most enjoyable stay at this charming country house, which was recommended by our good friends. We weren't disappointed. The house is heaped with character in a glorious setting. The standard of...More

This is a lovely hotel, the food and location is fab however as a vegetarian I was very disappointed with the lack of food choice. For lunch there was soup or sandwiches but no hot vegetarian dish on offer, whereas if you were a meat...More
Many words have been written about this hotel and I agree with all the compliments but when a place advertises a special offer for Sundays and Mondays because the kitchen is closed and then half price for a third night ,that is very very clear....More

The staff are very efficient and friendly.

Lots and lots of guided walks, easy and not so easy. We have done many and enjoyed the countryside around which is beautiful any time of the year. It sounds as if I am connected to tourism in this area but I am just a local lady from near Kendal who enjoys walking and beautiful country side. You can also enjoy a swim in the Langdale Country club = a concession which goes with the hotel, so after a hard days walk you can relax in the pool or hot tub it's just a walk away.
