We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the creative, delicious food which has beautiful attention to detail. The portions are neat but perfectly ample. Scallops were perfect as was my frito misto. A couple of things did let it down. I booked a table in the bar - one week in advance and was expecting roaring fire,...

My husband and I just enjoyed the most delicious meal at this beautiful inn! We went on a whim, not having reservations. We are staying in nearby, Ambleside. My husband found the Eltermere Inn on a top pubs in England list, and it was better than reviewed! We had a pint at the bar, visiting with the friendly owner and...

We didn't actually stay at the hotel, our issues were when we tried to cancel 10 days prior to our booking. We found the hotel unhelpful and the proprietor rude and insulting. We did appreciate we were asking for our deposit back which was outside the terms and conditions, and even though we did get it back eventually, which we...

If you are look for a fantastic Sunday Lunch in the Langdales then I would be surprised this could be beaten. Local ingredients beautifully cooked and presented, really relaxed but attentive service. The whole family enjoyed it enormously.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal in a lovely setting overlooking the rolling hills of the valley. Asking for a window seat is a must! The service was good and the food was just divine, one of the best meals I've had recently.

It's a lovely old building with a gorgeous view down the Langdale valley and across the tip of Elterwater, with some tables on the grass outside to take a drink and relax after a day's walking. There's a lovely lounge area with a big window to sit in and admire an even better version of the view - with a...

We dined here as we were staying close by and had been 2 years ago and loved it. We couldn't fault it, the food was amazing. The lamb main course was the best I've had in a very long time. The braised lamb was beautiful and fell apart in your mouth and the fillet was seasoned and cooked to perfection....

Nice old house with a view onto the wonderful scenery of the Lake District. Let down by a rather surly and negative service culture and lack of attention to detail. Despite relatively high prices, the lack of reliable wifi, decent coffee and welcoming atmosphere came as an unwelcome surprise and disappointment.

My boyfriend booked a weekend away for my birthday and paid for a superior room as it was a special occasion. When we arrived first impressions were good until we saw our room which compared to the other superior room (which has a bath and large room) we were very disappointed. We stayed in the room tom heights which although...
