The Saii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, is frequently celebrated for creating a welcoming atmosphere with its elegant decorations and vibrant entertainment. Many travelers enjoy the well-appointed rooms and the hotel's picturesque beaches, while the dining options with excellent service receive consistent acclaim. Although most guests appreciate the cleanliness and stunning location, there are occasional mentions of slow service and impracticality.
The rooms are generally lauded for their comfort and views, despite sporadic service issues. Some guests, however, find the pricing steep, noting additional charges with limited compensation for any inconveniences.

Hotel's Favourite
THE ISLANDS: UNUSUAL NEW CONCEPT
While the classic Maldives luxury resort is on it's own island, villas all around, maybe 2 or 3 restaurants to choose from, this here is quite a different concept.
So far, there are 3 islands connected by little bridges (no cars of course, pedestrians and electric buggies).
* two hotel islands: this SAii here and the Hard Rock Hotel Maldives
* and one Marina (called "Crossroads") island that is meant to attract day tourists from Male and also Yachts (we never saw much of either, but then, the concept is quite new)
The speed boat ride from Male Airport is quite short and well organized and has the advantage that it will run after dark which a water plane to a far away resort will not.
And don't worry about Male (and the airport) being to close. Male is on the horizon and planes are still very high in the sky when on the island.
The three islands give you a lot of things to explore, even a few small touristey shops in the Marina. However, the tiny supermarket has closed down and was "between owners" as of August 2023. So no place to buy food and drink if you are not on AI and additional sunscreen or mosquito repellent is a very small choice and pricey.
There are plans for further extension of the islands. We are told that a third Hotel (a Sofitel) is just about ready to open and that future plans are for 9 Hotels altogether. Wow.
This will make for even longer distances and buggy rides. As it were, we would generally opt to walk to walk off some of our food and drink, but buggies were omnipresent and generally available.
We sometimes called for a buggy from the reception or from restaurants but hitching a ride with empty buggies would work just as often.
However, you have to ask, don't expect them to ask you. And buggies are a little harder to get during dinner rush hour when "10 to 15 minutes" seems to simply mean "we don't know".
A THEME PARK TROPICAL ISLAND
We read that the islands were created or extended as part of a large land reclamation project.
Sometimes the island did feel a little artificial and we would joke about our "Disney Land" tropical island. But it was mostly artificial as in "too perfect to be true".
This perfection gives you wonderful white beaches and everything in brand-new condition.
And those looking for untouched nature are probably never reading these reviews here in the first place ;-)
One "unnatural" touch that we especially loved was the attitude towards mosquitoes.
We had stayed in a Hilton on the Seychelles on a protected nature reserve island and I always felt the well-being of mosquitoes was rated just a little higher the that of the guests.
Not so here at the SAii :-) An exterminator would walk through the island three times a day fumigating the bushes.
Loud, absolutely no fun to get close to, but where in the tropics can you get back to your villa after dark and find not 500 but zero(!) mosquitoes circling the lamp over your door.
It took me four days to get my first mosquito bite and I had about 10 after two weeks. Paradise.
I feel that the Marina island was a little more problematic with mosquitoes and maybe this is were I got most of my bites. Perhaps the do not have a fumigation regime, I don't know.
ROOM: BEACH VILLA WITHOUT POOL
We were quite relieved we paid the price difference for our own villa.
The simpler rooms are in little two storey houses, 4 BEACH ROOMS on the ground floor and 4 SKY ROOMS one level up.
Obviously, this means a lot more people. Beaches there were never crowded, but they never had the quiet 5 star feeling we often had in front of our villa.
Also, there is the matter of the view.
Most (not all) of the 8-room houses are on the north shore of the SAii island with a view of the Hard Rock Hotel island. While this is quite beautiful we were still happy that Beach villas are all on the south shore overlooking the open ocean.
(Strictly speaking: the inside of the South Male Atoll; you can see 3 or 4 small islands at day time and the glowing lights of a few more at night. Nice.)
Beware, the most notable thing about the Beach Villas is that they are really *HALF* villas.
When you look at the island from above you see 12 little houses on the south shore, these are Beach "half" Villas 201 to 224 left to right (West to East).
From what I saw they are always paired one Beach Villa with pool (which takes up a little more space in front) and one without pool.
If you are traveling in a big family this means you can book 2 adjoining villas and open the connecting doors. If you are not, you may hear the occasional noise from your neighbours.
This also means that the rooms are not all that big.
I measured it at 36 sqm (plus 15sqm outside bathroom and 11sqm terrace) - more of a Junior Suite than a Villa. We found it quite okay for 2 adults and a kid, but we've had other (full) Beach Villas that were more than twice that size.
A clever detail of the outdoor bathroom was a side door that you could leave open when you went to the beach. After all, what is the point of having an outside shower and tub if you can only get there after passing the entire villa with sandy feet.
As for the more expensive Villas - Beach Villas WITH POOL may have their attractions when traveling with little kids, but there is a catch.
We would not have minded the pool, of course, but most of these Villas come with a privacy screen in front - hedges, so people won't see you in the pool. The problem is, this greenery also obstructs your view of the ocean from your room. Big No Go for me.
WATER VILLAS we never even considered. Much more expensive, longer walks several times a day and you miss out on the beautiful beach! Having said that, they do cut your snorkeling distance up to the reef in half.
FOOD: WONDERFUL DINE-AROUND
I said above that there is a lot to explore and this is made a lot more fun by the fact that your All Inclusive works almost everywhere.
This must be the best dine-around currently on the Maldives.
In other places, the food in 3 different restaurants of the same hotel tends to be a variation of the same theme.
But not here.
* The 2 hotels are completely different, of course.
* Then the Hard Rock Cafe has their typical menu which is again quite different.
* And while 3 of the Marina restaurants (Indian/Thai/Chinese) seem to work closely together, they offer another 3 worlds of food.
The SAii contributes 4 restaurants to the list:
1.the Terra&Mar used to be the best location, in a back corner of SAii island (where Google maps still says Tom Yam) but it has moved to a temporary location next to the bar while we were there.
2.there is a bar with some food next to the small infinity pool, also on the SAii island.
The other 2 SAii restaurants are actually on the Marina island, after you cross the little bridge from the SAii: Tom Yam right at the pool and the main Buffet restaurant.
The Hard Rock Hotel contributes 3 restaurants:
1.their main restaurant SESSIONS which we were surprised to find better than ours; 3 buffet nights a week, otherwise a-la-carte with a really excellent (long) card
2.Elephant and Butterfly next to the pool
3.And best of all, a real Hard Rock Cafe with steaks and burgers and amazing nachos and the best cocktails and a really excellent house band and T-shirts and ... and ...
We didn't come to the Maldives for the Hard Rock Hotel (or we would have booked it) and we were surprised by how much we loved the Hard Rock Cafe.
Then the Marina has another 3 restaurants that are fully included: Indian, Thai and Chinese in the order of how much we liked them ;-)
The fourth, the Maldivian, has some restrictions as to food (only 2 dishes) and drink (no bar, just wine and beer) so it is somewhere in the middle.
The 3 up-market restaurants offer CRABS (careful, the "smallest" 50$ size may not be available, only those sizes where the lamps are lit),
STEAKS and TEPPANYAKI the last 2 of which we didn’t try.
Here, nothing is "included" as such, but you get a 50$ per person credit to be used for food and drink (which comes to a 30$ simple main dish and a 12$ glass of wine plus tax).
I had to try a 80$ medium-size crab anyway ;-)
Some of the "included" places had small(!) parts of the menu that were not fully included and either required a supplement or needed to be paid in full.
Steaks (12oz and 16oz at the Hard Rock Cafe, also Terra&Mar) and excellent huge shrimp (best at the Indian) were included in several places, whereas Lobster and Crab were not.
DRINKS: ALL INCLUSIVE
As for AI drinks, we read the offers and tested the wine before we decided to upgrade from full board and it was a clear yes.
The AI wine list has 2 reds, 2 whites and 1 rose at SAii and Hard Rock (same choice for both hotels !). Neither the Chardonnay nor the Malbec were quite what I hoped for but all 5 were perfectly drinkable, so no rip-off. The 3 Marina restaurants were slightly better here, quite a good South African White wine and a Spanish Cava for sparkling.
The hotels have a separate list for AI cocktails and long-drinks and the Marina restaurants have little markers for AI.
I cannot confirm the lack of alcohol from other reviews at all. A "Long Island Ice Tea" would make me go weak at the knees and long drinks would often come spirit (glass was half full already) and mixer separate. Maybe it depends on how drunk you look ;-)
The spirits were entry level brand names or slightly above with the notable exception of Remy Martin being included which I loved. And here, no barkeeper would ever put the mixer in.
Again, there are tiny differences as to what is included in the hotels (those are the same, as with the wine) and in the Marina, so you can pick what to drink where.
All this was on "normal" AI, not premium as I found it quite difficult to find much of a difference.
To know about the daily specials, we would just walk around and ask.
The SAii app pops up 10 advertisements a day, 8 of which you have already seen every day before, so no use.
And Marina locations (they have their own app, but no current info) and Hard Rock locations would not be mentioned anyway.
WATER ATTRACTIONS: SNORKELING AND FUN
This was a topic that I was worried about on a man-made island - and yes, the Maldives have been hit by coral bleaching just like most places.
I have been to places that were so full of corral that at low tide you had difficulties finding an empty rock to hold onto. Here, the rocks are mostly empty and corals are rare, especially the pretty ones.
But there are plenty of fish were the reef drops off. Hardly any fish in the sandy areas right close to the beach, some at the rock wall that protects the beach but then huge amounts at the drop.
I tried my best to count species one morning and came up to around 45, from finger-nail tiny up to longer than my forearm and much more massive, many of them quite colorful.
It took me 10 days of "hunting" to see one big reef shark, a single ray (I expected more) and a quite unexpected turtle right at the drop-off.
By the way, the large bridge connecting the Hard Rock Hotel is a more reliable place to see sharks (somewhat smaller here) and rays because fish are attracted when it lights up at night.
The WATER SPORTS CENTER ("Best Dive Maldives") offers all sorts of water fun. At steep prices, though - It's not like there is a competition.
The Jet Skis were fun, especially as our 16year old was allowed her own. Unfortunately they are restricted to a "safe area" and a guide comes along so a tour around the island was impossible.
We also had a Dolphin Tour were we didn't see any Dolphin.
The Maldives do not allow to feed them so instead of them coming to you, the crew did their best to hunt them. In fairness, they did seem honestly disappointed when they couldn't, so other tours may have been more lucky.
The dive center also has complimentary canoes and more importantly, a free rental of snorkeling equipment for my hunting above.
All in all, an unusual and beautiful place that now has top positions in more than one category in our (quite long) hotel list :-)

New resort in the maldives located 15 minutes by boat from the airport. The bad thing when facing Male is that you can see the disposal island with its permanent fire and smoke and the city.
The good thing is that theres a mini town walking from the hotel where there will be shops and more restaurants and makes it a huge difference from the other hotels where theres no activities by night or no
place to walk to.
The rooms are nice, with smart tvs, and facing the water.
My advice is you add something to shower your feet before entering the rooms areas, as there are no showers near the beach, just by the hotel pool. Usually in Thailand they have this vase filled with water and a huge spoon to wet your feet, hotel should add this!
Breakfast: is at Cafe del Mar, it has to be one of the worst 5 star hotel breakfasts, more like a 4 star hotel one. There are no fruit variations, no orange juice, no waffles, no smoked salmon, etc. The pastries were always the few same ones.
Hotel manager should check it and see the DIFFERENCE with Hard Rock hotel as there they offer sushi and ice cream!
Beach: beautiful beaches and close to the water sport centre. Kayak and Pedal boat + snorkel included in the rate. Now, the sunbeds on the beach were super uncomfortable, according to the Manager next year they will do something about them.
Hotel needs a lot of shadow as there are few trees, but since the island is articial they are growing them and will take a while to have more shadow while you walk.
Hotel should also fix the wifi problem that when you walk to your room or being at the beach there are lots of places without a bit of wifi, no even when I was outside the room in the stairs.
Many times I wanted to call reception to ask for something and no one would answer the telephone! If you want something to be done, you have to persevere and try to go ask it personally or there are 70% they might not do it if you ask something via phone. As it happened to me that I had asked for something and no one came to do it.
We have to thank the hotel for the early check in as
we had rooms ready for us.
Also a special shoutout to Maria who’s in charge of the beverage and food, who was so friendly and took great care of us!
I highly recommend getting the half board as you can eat anywhere you want for dinner.

Dear Jedme, thank you so much for the nice feedback after your recent stay with us at Saii Lagoon Maldives. The pot filled with water to clean your feet is arriving soon, it is true that now a lot of sand is being carried into the rooms. Thank you for your breakfast comments, we are looking into the the variety, our breakfast space is more limited. We have taken note of the sun loungers and how comfortable they are, we will invest into cushions. Our IT manager is working on the Wifi coverage, and we expect that there will be improvement soon. I am sorry to hear about the front office telephone. We are looking into this as the telephones in the rooms are now actually calling to a call center, not based in the front office. The supplier has been contacted to talk about making a better system so that the calls from the rooms actually arrive at the front office. Great that front office was able to accommodate your early arrival and Maria did her best as well, she will be delighted to find her name in your review. Thank you so much for having made the effort to write. We are continuously aiming at improvement and your comments help us go into the right direction. Saii for now, Karin Jongman General Manager

It was my first time in Maldives, so frightened about all the (high) prices in different resorts, I fortunately found about SAii Lagoon opening couple of months earlier and discount fares for HH.
The booking was easy as usual, on Hilton app, the price for the room was more or less the right one. I was informed about the prices of the transfer which I booked, thinking that with such a cost (300 dollars round tkt in two) I will be teleported to the resort and... Here we are at our arrival in Malè:
1. The transfer desk was visible as soon as we exit the arrival hall.
2. One guy met us, checked the booking and tagged our luggage.
3. We arrived at 7:15 am in Malè and we waited for the transfer untill 9:30 am - other guests were late.
I think guests will heighly appreciate if a note about the possible waiting time at the airport will be added in the information about transfers.
4. The check in was awesome! We could rest on a sofa during the entire process, as staff would do everything for you (filling in documents, payments).
5. We requested an upgrade but was not confirmed at the check-in time. Even so, they told me they'll inform me about the possibility to upgrade the next day.
6. The King Beach room was perfect. Everything is new, with direct access to the beach, and because of that, when later during the day the reception called to inform me about the possibility to upgrade, I said the room was fine, and I'll keep it.
7. The view... What a view! In front of us was the other part of the atoll, Hard Rock Hotel.
8. They clean the beach each morning, as the ocean brings on shore a lot of plastics. Unfortunately, one day, the entire shore was full of plastics, and even if I called the reception asking somebody to clean it, no one came.
9. The same day, they forgot to clean our room, and because I asked the reception, the next day I found nice message on the bed. Was a nice way to apologize.
10. Unfortunately, for the humidity, a bad smell came from under the bad. I hope they will solve that.
11. Food is OK, anyone can find everything, but I feel sorry that I have to say it's a little bit expensive. The breakfast at Café del Mar was perfect, but 100 dollars per person for the buffet dinner is just too much.
12. The staff: they are simply lovely! They just smile to you and say hello no matter what they do, from the guy cleaning the beach early in the morning to the manager of the hotel.
13. I will return because I know they will improve.

Dear Michulik, Thank you very much for your review after your stay with us at Saii Lagoon Maldives, we are delighted that you had a pleasant stay with us. I am sorry to hear about the transportation, the maximum wait is normally 30 to 45 minutes. Our landscapers are on the beach every day starting 5.30 am to clean the beach and prepare it for the guests arrival. I am sorry that you experienced a lot of garbage on the beach. Great to know that the staff impressed you, we are very pleased with your comments. We look forward to welcoming you back soon so you can see the improvements. Kind Regards, Karin Jongman General manager

Saii Lagoon is on a recently built man-made island. The Saii Lagoon buildings and facilities are great. The workers there are great. The trees have that newly planted not quite health look. The reason for the low score is that in the five days we stayed at the Saii Lagoon we saw less fish than you’d see in a single trip to a pet shop. If are going to the Maldives to see beautiful marine life that the country is famous for the Saii Lagoon is not the place to stay.
If you want a modern facility, multiple restaurant choices, beautiful ocean views, good swimming and many optional activities then Saii Lagoon may be a great place for you. We picked half-board (breakfast & dinner) which worked well since we only snacked for lunch. We thought the half-board breakfast (one buffet location) was very repetitive.
I’d recommend the Beach Villa rooms. The Beach Villa rooms seem to have finer sand built up by them plus they face south, so you don’t see the trash island smoking in the distance. Sky rooms are above the beach rooms, so they require a climb. Don’t take the south facing Beach rooms by the Overwater Villas the beach there has lots of jagged coral pieces. The Overwater Villas sadly have no marine life around them and all the coral seems dead. We walked the walkway twice and saw only 3 fish. The Overwater Villas are the a little more private have a great south view and direct ocean access.
Wanting to see marine life our group took both the snorkeling and the night scuba boat excursions through the Dive Center. On the snorkeling excursion our best swimmer had trouble diving the 20 to 30 feet to get close to the fish and coral. The Dive Center also herded snorkelers in a controlled area where we were run into by the small children on the excursion. We asked the Dive Center about a private snorkeling excursion to shallow water, but they wouldn’t commit to seeing more marine life at that location. We thought that it was odd for tour guides not to know the local conditions, so we did not book the private excursion.
Two of our group went on the night scuba excursion. Our resident dive master was great and shared many local stories on the boat ride out. We noticed that the dive spot was close to the main island and airport. The marine life was good but nothing like the images we’d seen from other divers who went to the Maldives. It was a great dive, but we thought Bonaire in the Caribbean had more marine life and coral varieties than the location the Dive Center used.
Be aware that the Dive Center includes the travel time in the boat on their excursions. We thought the local island visit was 4 hours but learned that 2 hours of the excursion were the boat ride to the island and back.

Dear J5424ASmarke, Thank you for sharing your comment about SAii Lagoon Maldives. As a reclaimed island, it is true that so far we have less vegetation than the other natural islands, however, it is on our plan to add more vegetation in the entire island, surely it will take time to achieve the green environment that we all want but with the efforts that we are willing to render, we believe that we will definitely get there. Kindly be informed that we have conducted several beach clean-up drive already and we will continue to do more moving forward in order to eliminate the coral debris. We also have a coral propagation programme here at the resort that will soon lead to restoration of the coral around our resort. Once again, thank you very mcuh for sharing your feedback. Looking forward to see you again. SAii for now...

The location is horrible: the burning waste island Thilafushi is very close, you can view it and its smoke from the balcony, the city is too close, the water in the lagoon is not the cleanest, especially at high tide, one day it smelled like canalization and on the other beach it is not fine sand but coral pieces everywhere. If you are looking for a hidaway, white sand Maldive island this is not your place.
Services: Everything is very slow here, if you want to get something done it takes one hour at least for sure, and you have a good chance it won’t be done at the end (reservations, luggage pickup, room service etc)
There is no service on the beach, you can call room service but than you will have to go to your room and it takes one hour or more to get your order. Don’t expect anybody to come at any time just offering you a refreshment or fruits etc. this is not that place.
The buggy service should be improved, it is not ***** level if the buggy driver sitting in the buggy tells you he is not going to take you anywhere, or at the reception they tell you to wait another 15 mins after your lunch took 1,5-2 hours.
Food: breakfast ok, nothing special, Olive oyl restaurant fine, just slow, the drinks, especially the wine list is extremely short: 6 wines altogether out of wich 3 is not available...
All inclusive is a joke, nothing is included except the food three times a day and the drinks to these dishes, nothing in between.
Early check in - late check out: in case you cannot get these, there is no any facility in the hozel to change your winter clothes after the 12-20 hours trip to fresh ones, and you cannot take a shower after the beach and change before your trip.
Water sports: lots of oportunities, but don’t take the semi submarine! It is a waste of money. The corals in this region are mostly dead, some fishes to see only. Rather take a snorkel set and swim in the lagoon, it is a nicer experience for free... the staff is nice and helpful.
The worst: if you recognize this on the first day and want to really enjoy your holiday somewhere else, they will not let you go just with full payment. Consider before booking!

Dear Gabor, Thank you for letting us know about your recent stay with us. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. I believe my colleague Inaz met you on departure. We opened our resort on September, 1st and are working hard to make the service as flawless as possible. We appreciate your feedback because we will use these examples to share with our team, so we know where the priorities should be. We actually have showers in the toilets next to Miss Olive Oyl bar where guests can take a shower and get changed. Our All Inclusive packages includes lunch and dinner, and alcoholic drinks from 8:30 AM to 11.30 pm, not sure why you were not able to order any drinks. Once again, thank you for the feedback. Best regards, Karin Jongman General Manager

We spent five gorgeous and relaxing days at Curio Saii Lagoon.
The resort is virtually brand new and management is working hard to work out all of the operational kinks that come with a new resort / reopening.
From the airport kiosk, the short transfer to the resort via boat from Malé was seamless. A host is assigned to each party for check-in on arrival. Guests are given a brief tour of the property, which also houses several resort restaurants and the Hard Rock Cafe, before being delivered to their room.
We reserved a King Sky room and were thrilled when our host delivered us to Villa 217 on the ocean side, a spectacular upgrade. This one bedroom villa has a secluded beach area with little foot traffic that makes it feel you’re on a private luxury getaway. Outside there is also a large, beautiful soaking tub and shower. Housekeeping (Mohamed) did a great job of being attentive to our needs and requests.
The pool and grounds have been thoughtfully landscaped with native flora. We saw several crews continuing to hand plant areas.
Restaurant happenings and special menus should be better publicized. We made dinner reservations only to find out hours before that a specialty buffet would be offered rather than a menu. This caused us to change dinner plans twice. The app is super efficient and should be used for all communications.
Breakfast is being served over at The Crossroads pool complex for some reason. Breakfast offerings include many international dishes, special order items, and a good variety of breads, fruits and hot items. Food we ate at other restaurants including from the pool bar and Mr. Tom Yam was just ok and fairly flavorless. We did enjoy our dinner at Kinkao in The Crossroads.
Saii Lagoon provides a beautiful and peaceful property at a price point that makes the Maldives accessible to those not requiring a luxury resort. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights at Saii Lagoon, and the service was so bad I can’t describe. Here are some of it:
Check-in took hours, a lot of staff came to say «hello», but we didn’t get any information.
We was waiting until the evening before we had the luggage (meanwhile we had asked for it several times),
The room was not properly cleaned
No coffee in room, even though we asked for it to several members of the staff
Billing was wrong 3 times and we had to argue to have it corrected, the staff initially meant we were wrong every time, and they even promised they had fixed it once, but next day, we were still charged for someone elses dinnner at a restaurant
We had no information at all about the services, like bicyckles, snorkelling gears, and things like that.
The lack of service was so remarkable it was hard to enjoy the stunning view and area.
After three nights at Saii Lagoon, we went to Hard Rock Hotel, which is a cooperating hotel in the same area, and the difference in service levels is remarkable. It was like coming from hell to heaven.

Coming from the spectacular and secluded Rangali island, Saii Lagoon was sort of a shock to me. This is not what I expected at all. I expected that it was going to be similar to Conrad on Rangali island. However, I warmed up to this resort fast. The color of the water is mesmerizing! The staff were so friendly and so helpful. We cannot say enough about how they went above & beyond to make our stay so wonderful. The property is so clean, and the ground is kept so nicely. Every morning 4 staff are on the beach cleaning the shells & whatever that have been washed up during the night. Every afternoon around 5pm. The staff at the pool sent a big basket of drinks and snacks into the pool for the guests. The two restaurants on the property are pretty good. I liked Mr. Tom Yum, an Italian/Thai restaurant. The exc. Chef Aiw is a Thai lady who makes delicious/interesting dishes. I LOVED the risotto laab gai! In the end, I really like this resort, and I highly recommend it!

I stayed in SAii lagoon for 5 nights. And let me start by saying that it was the worst experience ever. We stayed in the water villa. Upon arrival we did not get any information about hotel facilities except for the restaurants. When taken to our villa, there was a tray of leftover food from the previous guests outside our door. The shower gel in the bathroom was empty and filled with water. The room and bathroom was not clean to a 5 stars hotel standard. The hotel is new and the staff is not well trained. When you call for a buggy they ask you just wait outside and catch one passing by. When you call for an extra room key card they ask you to come collect it on your way. When you call and ask for a bottle of water they ask you do you want it now ? Why would I order it if I want it later ? Very lazy and all they do is have their phones and take photos of each other. One incident that happened was we ordered coffee from the waiter and he was holding a tray of dirty cups from the other table, he walked away and came and SERVED us those other customer left over coffee ! We noticed it was 1/2 empty and cold and had lipstick stains on one of them. Another incident, we asked for no chili flakes on our lunch order Because I’m allergic, after waiting for 1 hour the waiter came and said that it will take more time because he forgot to inform the kitchen about our order. Came back after another 30 mins just to serve it full of chili flakes. One of the activities that the resort had scheduled was a dolphin cruising trip. We called to book it and we were told that better not to book because there were no dolphins. The hotel is not 5 star worthy and not Hilton worthy. I visited the Maldives 20 years ago with my family and the hotel back then was so much better than what I experienced this time in 2020. It was a anniversary surprise trip for my husband and instead of enjoying it I had to apologize from him everyday for the terrible resort. He wanted to move to another resort but because it was New Years it was hard to find something else. The resort was not worth the money.

What was supposed to be a 8 night stay ended up becoming a 13 night stay due to the amazing service, importance placed on sanitisation, incredible food, fair pricing, and fantastic hotel (we felt safer here and sitting in our home in London).
The entire team under Patrick the GM (who you can see personally picking up dishes at breakfast and tiding up the sun beds) are simply the best in the business and deserve the highest accolade in hospitality. My wife has a complex gastro health condition and the staff went above and beyond to understand and accommodate for her.
Arres the F&B manager has been simply amazing, and went over and beyond to make this stay memorable and faultless, with this attention to detail, communication with guests, friendly approach, and accommodating ever need. Chef Prabhu and his entire team have cooked us delicious and unique meals/dishes every time. Good food is a must for us, and we were treated to exceptional vegetarian food, he has a heart of gold.
The hotel and rooms are designed perfectly & has many activities for adults and kids, loved the Dj nights, outdoor cinema, water sports. Having a drink at the pool is a must, we saw Dolphins swim by 4 times :)
A special shout out to Naseem in reservations, Naeem from housekeeping, Shaista, Zameen and all the staff of Miss Olive Oyl, and Sean and Ronak at the Pool Bar, Samir, Rasheed, Niall, George, Thalhath Afa, and the front office team.
