La Locanda is everything you hope it will be from perusing the website -- an impeccably renovated farmhouse tucked away in the Chianti hillside with a jaw dropping view. Guido will warmly welcome you, sit with you at breakfast to chart out the day's itinerary, and make sure you only eat at the best restaurants around. My husband and I...

This was our second visit and it was as fantastic as the first. Guido is a superb host, always ready with a suggestion for how to best enjoy the marvellous Tuscan valleys surrounding the hotel. The hotel has beautiful views of the surrounding region and the central location means you are never far from all the sights (and excellent restaurants)....

Guido (the owner) made possible to experience all Tuscany in one place. It is magical because it sits in perfect-middle between nature and civilisation, raw and comfort, casual and luxurious. We were inhaling harmony and peace. Thank you GUIDO!

We stayed at La Locanda for 2 nights while traveling through Tuscany at the end of September and could not have asked for a more perfect and relaxing spot. The decor was both polished and comfortable - rooms were well appointed with excellent attention to detail. Guido made us feel right at home with free apertivo every night and excellent...

We spent 3 nights at La Locanda and it is the most amazing place, beautifully restored rooms with a stunning view over the Chianti countryside with Volpaia close by. As other reviewers have said what makes it really special is the warm welcome given by Guido who is always happy to give advice on excursions and book restaurants for dinner....

La Locanda offers a very unique experience. Hidden within the Tuscan countryside, the resort is a perfect place to escape but to also use as a base for exploring the area. The neighboring village, Volpaia is very convenient and offers a few excellent restaurant options. Guido ensures guests will have a perfect stay and is always available to help with...

We stayed here on our honeymoon and had a lovely time! Guido is so sweet and helpful, and the pool overlooking Chianti is stunning. It's definitely out of the way, which after getting over my initial shock, it became a great story and one of the funner parts of the trip. To get to the nearby Volpaia for dinner, you...

We stayed with the lovely Guido in his Country House for 6 nights before travelling onto Pienza and then San Gimignano. This is the most peaceful place with the most amazing views over the Sangiovese wine groves and beautiful medieval village of Volpaia. We loved eating in Bar Ucci, and returning to La Locanda. The pool is stunning.., the little...

A truly beautiful location with genuine and warm hospitality from Guido. We had a fantastic stay, and really enjoyed meeting a few other guests who were similarly enchanted with La Locanda - the setting and comfort makes it very easy to relax. Ken

The hotel has been well covered in the reviews and Guido was most helpful so I won't repeat all this. Did miss tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but not a big deal. Small T.V. and did feel hotel was a little over- priced. La Locanda is about 3.5 km from Volpaia on a gravel road, the last km down...
