Detailed Reviews
Pearl Farm is an incredible hotel set in a stunning tropical oasis on perfect, pristine beach front. Every touch point was excellent from the airport pickup, boat transfer and welcome right through to the friendly goodbye. We stayed in the Samal suite which was ideal for our family of 3. The room is 2 stories and underneath you have a sitting area with a day bed that leads to steps straight into a stunning reef perfect for safe snorkelling. There were many varieties of fish and the water was crystal clear and a lovely temperature. I've not spent that much time in the water since I was a child. There is a balcony on the first floor which we spend hours just relaxing on in the sun.
There's plenty to do. Swimming, playing snooker (and other games) and water sports. The banana boat was so much fun and the water sports guys are super friendly and professional. We also hired a paddleboard and canoe and just went cruising around.
The restaurant staff are very welcoming. The food was plentiful and fresh with lots of variety. There was different entertainment every night such as acoustic duo's and small bands.
I travelled with my husband and son. We travel for work in luxury hotels all over the world and I can honestly say that this was our idea of holiday perfection. I would not hesitate in recommending it.

We arrived at the Pearl Farm around 11:30 in the morning, and immediately we were ushered by a friendly and welcoming staff to our room. Before that we were served cold drinks which was very refreshing after about 40 min. On a warm boat ride.
Our room was ver comfortable, although wefound it really expensive compared to other hotel rooms we have stayed in. But itwas all worth it, as the view was spectacular. The contrast between the green forest and the blu sea was amazingly beautiful.
Then we went to our buffet lunch served in a huge airy and bright restaurant.
The choice of food was great...several main dishes, appetizers, drinks, fruits, sweets, very substantial and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing.
Although we did not swim,we found our friends enjoying the deep blue sea. The water was arm and inviting.
Our evening was spent mostly at the balcony of our room admiring the beautiful view around us.
In addition , we found the staff very friendly, helpful and caring.

Room Tip: The room was comfortable but we found it very expensive. The beds could have been wider and sorter.

Stayed x 2 nights in Samal house 10..family told me, this is where the buck stops when it comes to everything. Staff were very accommodating, professional, corteous and welcoming. We saw all their available room types, except for the villas in their nearby island and I would recommend upgrading some of their room furnitures, locks and other stuff considering the price you pay. Pools and access to the sea were definitely great, couldn’t ask for more. Food buffet could have been better for the price, IHMO, Marco Polo Davao buffet was better. Water sports and activities were definitely a major attractions, thanks to the Kayak guys!. If you want to impress someone when you’re Davao, this the place to be. If you want an iconic spot for those selfie and Instagram and Facebook addicts, this is the place to be. Highly recommended.

This was our second stay totalling 18 nights for both stays. We were treated better the first time which was disappointing (particularly by management - one of the guest services ladies left (Jaz) and that has impacted negatively). The fridges in the rooms aren’t cold, we were told we had a limit of one coffee per day and the door on our villa didn’t close properly which was the same as it was 18 months ago (same villa). The staff are mostly great, with a few outstanding employees and some disappointing ones. For $500AU per night (20,000.00P) I expect a little more than what Pearl Farm offered this time. The quality of the food was substantially lower which includes the variety. It was a lot quieter this stay (7 days) and what we found was the food was reduced dramatically in variety. It would make more sense to me if they kept a large variety but made smaller quantities rather than reduce the variety and increase quantity. The Samal House villa has increased by 1/5 in price because they include the buffet lunch however it didn’t add value for us because of the variety. Happy hour has reduced as well (now only with selected drinks). If what you’re looking for is a great location where you can snorkel with wonderful employees then I recommend it highly. Don’t miss Edwin’s happy hour! If you’re looking to be treated the same as previous stays or the same as new guests instead of returning I’d head somewhere else for the money.

This is a very late review since we stayed in Pearl Farm on january 2019. We spend 5 nights in Samal House which has a very amazing view, comfy bed and a huge balcony directly on the water. We spent our afternoons on the balcony waiting for the sunset while feeding the fish 😁
Waking up to the gentle sound of waves, blue skies, and calmness of the sea is priceless. Don't close your curtain even at night. You paid for that view 😉
Giant clams and very abundant marine life in the the property's waters.
Service in the restaurant was quick and the staff were very attentive to our needs. I ordered korean food, noodles with some meat but i just mananged to eat the noodles since the meat had a weird odor. The chef went out to apologize and offered complementary food but i told him that fruits is ok (they serve the sweetest pomelo)
Morning buffet was very limited for a 5 star hotel
Couple massage and body scrub package was so-so.

I first started going to this resort about 6 years ago and have been back nearly half a dozen times. I also had my wedding here in 2018. Each time the resort has gotten progressively less pristine. This last trip I noticed rooms are getting dirtier (busted lights, mold on shower doors), the restaurant was understaffed, and our departure time was moved back to 1:30 on a smaller speedboat instead of the normal ferry that departs at 1:00. We ended up being assigned as the last group to leave on the speedboat even though we requested to leave as soon as possible given that we have 2 young kids (8 months and 2.5 years). We were instead told by staff to just let our kids walk around while we wait for our turn. It ended up being around 2:30 when we departed. We were given a wash-up room while we waited but it would have been vastly preferable to leave at the normally assigned time with all the other guests. I feel that we were slightly taken advantage of given that my wife used to work here around 10 years ago even though we paid in full (we've actually never gotten a discount any of the times we attended here, including the wedding). I will say though that several of the staff that served us throughout our stay were excellent, such as Clyde who served us at the restaurant.

The beach and the view was breath taking to say the least. The system for providing 3 buffet meals included in the room fee was brilliant as we don't have to worry about spending food, not to mention that they have excellent selection which included drinks. The price is higher than usual but I feel that it was worth every peso spent. The massage and the water sports were also good, with very friendly staff.
What I would really want to commend is the excellent service by the staff. From the coordination after the booking, to our send off from the island, there was nothing but smiles, politeness, hospitality and service that takes a step further than what is required that impresses even foreigners. I guess what sets it apart is that the service seems so sincere. I would like to personally thank Wendy who as assisted us from the day we arrived till the day we left, and also Clyde and Maritess who have been very gracious in assisting us during meal times.
I would definitely be back, and will recommend this place to friends from here and abroad.

I would have to dedicate this top rating to all the amazing staff at Pearl Farm: cart drivers, maintenance workers, cleaners, restaurant staff (waiters, managers, chefs!), poolside staff, bartenders, spa & massage staff, first aid/nurse, boatmen, receptionists and managers. BIG BIG thank you for such a remarkable service! I do hope you are paid and treated well because you are the treasure and top secret of Pearl Farm's endurance.
And the food for Yuletide season was really spectacular! Great job! And thank you for serving us with energy after NYE even though you guys barely slept! Amazing team!

My wife and I have frequented this resort for many years now. We have witnessed the changes along the way, which includes the renovated rooms, inclusive meals and WiFi. One thing that has not changed is the amazing staff. Blessy in the reservations office has always been so helpful in securing us the room we desire. Aldrin is always there to greet us with a smile when we get off the boat. Jun and Nikki are amazing servers at the restaurant and always remember us. We have stayed at many great places (often times we use points so stays are free), but at Pearl Farm we glady pay cash as it is money well spent. The accomodations are nice, clean and super comfortable. One area that we noticed improvement in is the food. Early reviewers used to complain about the food (although we always found it very good), but I must say they have taken the variety and quality of the food to the next level. Everyhting we tried was excellent and having such amazing staff in the restaurant make the experience that much more memorable. While we were sad to leave, we are sure that we will be returning again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay in this unique place.
The sea is beautiful, the duplex suites very spacious and enjoying a superb view (and such nice sunset !) Very good kitchen in the form of buffets, the facilities are beautiful, clean, welcoming. Very nice white sandy beach.
But what really makes Pearl Farm exceptional is all of its staff. I have never seen such a kind staffl, smiling, discreet, attentive, taking care of you constantly for your comfort and well-being.
It is a true rest for the soul and the spirit, a true gift for the heart.
All the girls at the front desk are adorable, always available, taking care to answer your every request and always with a smile. Special mention for the entire team of waiters and cooks at the restaurant where we have always had very good times. Great team at water sports as well as at the Spa.
I would especially like to thank one of the resort managers, Aldrin, who took care of us with fantastic attention. Knowing that we stayed there long enough, 13 nights, and that the dishes of the buffet ended up repeating themselves, which is quite normal, he ensured with his cook that we had personalized meals. Who said it better?!
We leave again delighted with our stay, with the intention of returning next year with immense joy.
What is certain at Pearl Farm today is that the real « pearls » are the 197 staff members who made us live an unforgettable stay.
Thank you all!
See you soon

Personally think that would be a tight squeeze, I’m guessing that they’d have to take out furniture to fit the extra bad in..
AFAIK Your booking includes free airport transfer to and from the airport to the resort. Call the resort and give them your flight details.
