Ate here with family whilst visiting the area. A thriving pub and restaurant with great food and great atmosphere. Located in a charming village the full restaurant spoke for itself. Menu was traditional British food but with some twists. Great Ales and wines. Just lovely

We had our family get together at the Bay Horse and the venue & staff all coped brilliantly with a large number. The food was excellent - very tasty & well presented. There were lots of choices & the menu wasn't focused on festive food which was a welcome change. Portions are very generous so be prepared.

Party of 3 adults and 2 teenagers visited for lunch. Lunchtime menu very restricted 2 ordered Gammon which arrived a boiled pink in colour with half an inch of white soggy fat all around. Undercooked and unable to be eaten. They were returned to the kitchen and reappeared after 8-10 mins obviously having been microwaved, the eggs on top of...

Stopped of here whilst taking a walk from Kirkby Stephen and back, in a large circle. My sister and two friends had coffee which came with a homemade baked, round shortbread biscuit - which was apparently "amazing"!! I had a pint of Stella that was correctly served in a Stella glass. There was an open fire which we sat near...

Nice pub, plenty of ambience. Good menu with half portions at lunchtimes. Even came with free water without asking, in a nice bottle. Our food was very tasty. You may need a map to find it but worth the effort.

This is a pub that has been turned into a food factory. However the food is really very good...and I'm a bit hard to please.! The beer is not bad either. Apparently two "professional" chefs run this place and do a great job based on my one visit. I'd certainly go again for the food..but its no longer the village...

We were a group of 6 staying nearby and came here on recommendation. The notice outside said they stopped serving lunch at 2pm and we got there 15 minutes after that. Fortunately they were not sticklers for time and served us a delicious meal. And even though they would usually close at 3pm before reopening again in the evening they...

After a walk on a bright autumn day a group of us had booked in advance for lunch. The atmosphere was very welcoming. All the food arrived on time and was hot, no mean feat when dealing with a large group all ordering different things. No one had ordered in advance. I had soup ( home made and piping hot.)...

Lovely atmosphere and good selection of drinks. Reasonable quality and price. Pub grub not restaurant, Halloumi dish not brilliant. Very pleasant and quite professional service. Busy, advisable to book. Enjoyable evening in our own company.
