We had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at Ratanui Lodge in Jan/16. Yes, perfect weather and sunny skies did add to the ambiance, but our hosts Marcus and Steve put it over the top. VERY accommodating to help with any request. We dined at Ratanui Lodge 2 nights as well. They offer a "set menu" presented by Chef Chris...

I agree with all the positives of previous reviewers apart from comments regarding the continental breakfast. The quality and standard of the dinner was so good and the homemade cookies on arrival and as a consequence I was just expecting something more special than processed pre-sliced toasting bread and a couple of jams. There was cereal and fresh fruit but...

We were greeted by the extremely friendly host, and offered coffee. A pot of excellent coffee with two tasty cookies, set on sweet delicate china, was presented quickly to help revive us from our windy drive over the mountains to this little oasis. We were in walking distance from the beach and some cafes, and a short drive from other...

A personal hand written welcome card set the scene that did not disappoint. Amazing hospitality that was warm and welcoming like we had been there before. Spotless and prepared to treat you so special and set into idyllic surroundings that brought you into a mood of relaxation and to enjoy the moment.

We had two rooms, one for my father and one for my husband and I. Steve is a great host and clearly enjoys making his guests feel welcome and at home. Greeted on arrival with tea, coffee and home made cookies. Dinners are worth having and the wine list is good. Cocktails are reasonably priced and worth having. The lodge...

We had three luxurious nights here in early January. Our room was beautifully fitted out, with lovely linen and the bed was super comfortable. There was plenty of space in the bathroom, with a great shower and nice toiletries. The Lodge is lovely and quiet at night. The continental breakfast served in the pleasant breakfast room is of a high...

Be sure to stay here multiple days if you are traveling in Golden Bay. Our host Steven tends to all our needs and does it with ease. Our room is comply, super clean and has a huge marble bathroom. Steve loves to makes coal tails and it is quite evident at 5:00 when the place fills up. I have gotten...

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Ratanui as part of our three week honeymoon in New Zealand. It was our favourite spot by far. A perfect base to explore the gorgeous Abel Tasman and Farewell Spit. Steve, our host, was the epitome of warmth and hospitality and greeted us like old friends. He helped us...

Hosts Steve and Pete made us feel at home after an intense 3 day abel tasman walk. The welcome coffee and bikkies were a nice touch. Steves coffee making skills were amazing, my partner even got a takeaway coffee on departure! The room was very luxurious with nice smelling toiletries.
