We stayed here for 6 nights in a 3 bedroom apartment. We were here for a family wedding and there were friends and family members in this and the surrounding Laguna resorts. The apartment was great with 3 en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen area and a huge living area . The two main bedrooms were at each end of the apartment giving a degree of privacy but still having access to the large terrace. The kitchen had a dishwasher ( but no detergent ) and an oven but it wasn’t sufficiently equipped to do any real cooking. There was a good supply of drinking water provided each day In refillable bottles. The cleaning staff were very efficient but it could run quite late. Our flight was very late and when we arrived at the resort there was no food or drink available which seemed strange at this class of hotel. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good, with egg and noodle stations in the foyer. However the restaurant and bars were empty at other times and lacked any atmosphete. We intended to go for happy hour drinks in the pool bar but it had closed because of rain and the offer didn’t extend to the main bar . It would appear many people ate room service or ordered food via Grab. We never worked out what the chocolate hour was supposed to be as there was nothing obviously on offer. The resort is small and surrounded on three sides by the Laguna resort which encompasses a huge area with hotels and lakes. There were a few nice beach bars and restaurants nearby and there is a small shopping area about 20 minutes walk away or it was about 40 minutes walk to the nearest proper shops. This is a pleasant low key resort. It doesn’t have the facilities of Banyan Tree and Angsana but it suited us as we were travelling with a toddler. It would be useful to have some kind of shop or kiosk on site to sell essentials.

The hotel is quite isolated from everything. We stayed in a massive 3 bedroom Royal Jacuzzi Suite and it was massive but a bit run down. The hotel needs a bit of TLC but otherwise all in all the stay was very nice for the price and we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this hotel as long as you know you are in an isolated area. The hotel staff really show that Thai hospitality and I am thankful for their dedication and efforts while we were at the Resort.

Having not travelled the last couple of years it was so nice to be out and about again with the family. From the time of booking they have been very helpful with ensuring our 3 year old gets a baby cot and all the amenities we needed to feel at home. We booked a 2 bedroom pool apartment with seaview and the apartment was the perfect set up for our family with 2 kids. The staff have been very accommodating throughout and the lady at the kids club Miss Cat was exceptional and she entertained our kids daily with the most amazing face paints and T-shirt painting. Our older son enjoyed the water activities in the main pool very much everyday after breakfast. The room was very spacious, even bigger than our own home we stay in Singapore, pure luxury for a holiday getaway. Miss Mick at the reception was also outstanding and nothing was too much to ask for. She managed to change our flights, arrange all our tours and also arranged a nice cooking class in our room. It was a pity that it rained much but we still had a great time and will come back again with family and friends.

We just came back from 2 weeks at Movenpick - stayed in a 3 bedroom suite and very much enjoyed our stay. The incredible staff make the resort very memorable. We especially want to thank Mary (front desk) and Mik- they were absolutely amazing- went above and beyond our expectations, and need to be acknowledged - thank you!! The resort itself is quite good - the 3 bedroom suite worked well for us - 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom with full kitchen dishwasher etc. The room had 2 decks - one overlooked the lagoon and the other looked into the hotel pathways. We had family at the neighbouring Sai Laguna and the room was just a small simple hotel room. Mövenpick was much better for a larger family. The only real down side was the beach - no fault of the resort. The beach is not swimable and was full of trash- it was very disappointing. We had a few small grievances and the resort ended up giving us a free 1 bedroom Villa with private pool, facing the lagoon- this was amazing. I don’t believe its advertised on the Mövenpick website either. Again, an example of the staff ensuring we were happy with our stay. Breakfast was delicious - quite a good variety and more then adequate. Gym is small and simple, but good for vacation. Walk along the beach to a outdoor massage hut and get a fantastic massage for 400 baht - located in front of Xana beach club

I am reviewing the Movenpick hotel Bangtao Beach not because of our stay (which will not occur) but because of what Transpired Prior to our Stay, which I feel was very underhanded by the Hotel. We booked a week at the Hotel in a Deluxe garden view (or so we thought) via Travelbag in February 23. As my wife and I are light sleepers and as we will be celebrating out wedding anniversary I contacted the Hotel to request a quiet room with as nice a view as possible. We were then informed by the Hotel that the booked Room had no view or Balcony and was in the Restaurant Block, we were also informed that if we wanted to upgrade to a Balcony room we would have to pay an extra 1100 THB (£270) per night which was more than Travelbag had paid for the original room. When I checked their prices via tripadvisor I noticed that they had increased their prices massively and that they were trying to pass that extra cost on to us, shame on Movenpick, we have now chosen a more trustworthy resort.

I just got back from this gorgeous resort. Right on the beach with beach bars to drink cocktails and watch the sunset just across the road or a very close walk (there are so many great beach bars). The 2 bedroom apartment room with a private pool was just divine. The resort is still fairly quiet but they are getting ready to welcome the masses and their service is second to none, just a perfect place to relax.

Our family of 4 adults and our one year old son stayed at the property for 6 nights in their 2BR pool villa. The view overlooking the Andaman sea is something you can take in all day long The Villa itself is very spacious and beautifully designed. The master bathroom is massive and very nicely laid out. The villa comes equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, utensils, dishwasher etc and this was especially helpful for us as we could cook meals for our kid. The attached pool is also fairly good sized and the staff is very diligent with cleaning it every day. In general the entire staff at Movenpick is just so warm and friendly , always a smile on their faces that it makes you feel truly welcomed at this place. The resort itself is located inside Laguna Phuket which is like a mini suburb being developed for high end residences, golf, resorts etc. That makes it a very peaceful location away from the party scene of Patong and the like. Majority of the guests at the resort are also family travelers with kids and seem to prefer this for long stays. We loved the overall location and peace. There are a few restaurants and cafes on the beach which are walking distance from the resort and the nearest market is a 7-10 min drive. The only area where the resort could do better is their variety and taste of food. The breakfast spread is also limited and tends to get repetitive after the first couple of days but nothing you cant deal with. Overall would recommend this resort if you are looking for a peaceful vacation to unwind and relax. Hope to come back here some time in the future!

We had a two bedroom pool suite, it was very spacious and clean with muted decor. As a family of 5 we had to pay an extra 1500THB per night for an extra bed even though the booking through Expedia noted the correct party size, the small print does say based on two beds though so I should have checked. Breakfast was great and lots of choice, the kids loved the waffles and crepes. We enjoyed the pool bar most days and one day had chocolate hour there too, although it wasn’t as it seemed on the website, it was a chocolate milk drink rather than copious amounts of chocolate treats to choose from. This area of Phuket is quiet with some big resort areas. Movenpick is quite a small resort but perfect for us. The main pool is enormous and was generally quiet. We didn’t walk anywhere from the hotel, other than to Tony’s which is a stone throw away, and used the taxi service outside - tip, if Sid is around he ferried us around for the week in his Land Cruiser, even waiting for us between market visits which was well worth it. Boat Avenue would be about a 20 minute walk I think and certainly doable, it’s a lovely area for a meal, drinks and some shopping. My only negative would be that the hotel is a little tired in areas, like the weather has taken its toll. Our suite pool area, for example, was clean but flaking paint and the pool jets didn’t work. However, we’d most definitely recommend the resort, all in it was perfect for us. The staff here are something else, literally can’t do enough for you, amazing customer service and a very genuine approach. They are not overbearing in any way but would go out of their way to be helpful - thanks to them for such a great time!

This is our 3rd time staying at Movenpick and we are happy loyal customers. This time we stayed for 17 nights with friends and family and had an amazing holiday. We had several young children with us which brought us over the room capacity but they didn't charge extra and offered free breakfast for the kids. Location is beach front and there are several local Thai restaurants within walking distance where you can dig your feet in the sand and enjoy beers while watching sunset. We booked their penthouse jacuzzi villa and its super nice to chill there with a glass on wine at night after the kids went to bed. Their pool is gorgeous too, and whilst you can sip cocktails by the pool bar you can also do laps because of the way its cleverly shaped (need to burn off those calories!). The resort is a short drive to Boat Avenue where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, massage options, and on Fridays they have night market too. Laguna golf is just round the corner and Blue Tree Waterpark is approximately 10 mins drive away, super convenient. I had the pleasure to meet with the hotel owner who was extremely hands-on, responsive, resourceful and always went out of his way to help us. We needed to get PCR tests before the flight back to HK and he referred a clinic to conduct the tests at the comfort of our villa. My son tested positive so couldn't board the flight, Movenpick being a SHA+ hotel immediately handled everything professionally and arranged a private place for us to isolate so he can recover peacefully. The staff who comes in to do daily cleaning does an amazing job and keeps the place spotless by disinfecting thoroughly. This took a lot of stress away from us and my family cannot thank Movenpick enough for everything you've done to look after us. Many thanks and we hope to see you again soon! For those who are looking for a relaxing holiday in Phuket, I would highly recommend Movenpick.

I stayed here during Phuket Sandbox. Everybody was super nice and caring. Special thanks to the front desk and the reservation team for all the help with registration and paperwork for the sandbox. All team of the restaurant was extremely helpful as well. The hygienic standards and Covid measures were on a very high level. It’s a perfect place for a summer vacation. The beach and the surrounding are beautiful. There are nice bars and restaurants outside as well so it won’t get boring.
