Unless you are wanting a really unique souvenir - a cockroach infestation - this is not the place for you. Had to wash down EVERYTHING before I could even bring it into my home. small room, minamal furnishings, no plugs near bed, broken hairdryer... Extremely loud band in grill next door till late at night.

It's very tranquil, you fill yourself all along with nature. Good small cottages for up to 6 people. There is a place for camping too. It's so quiet, that when you up during the night you can here nothing:)

My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins at Fernwood from July 1-July 4, 2013. It was exactly what we wanted - and more. The cabin contained a full kitchen (less a microwave - no problem there though), a living room, full bathroom and bedroom with queen bed (don't expect a luxury bed - you're camping), as well...

The area is spectacular. The views are some of the best in the country. The workers were very nice and accommodating. The resort is dated, but it kind of adds to the charm. The place was very clean. The beds are probably as old as the place.

We (my father, brother and myself) had a great stay at the Fernwood Resort in one of the motel rooms with a fireplace. Though it is just off the highway, it felt peaceful. The room was perfectly comfortable and clean, all of the staff were really nice and helpful, and we had everything we needed nearby. From the market to...

We stayed in several different accommodations of all levels during a lengthy trip up the PCH and Fernwood stands out among our favorites. We first thought we would stay in one of the tent cabins and the attendant was nice enough to let us look at the different models available. The camping area was nice and we wanted to stay...

This is among the most affordable options in Big Sur. With that in mind, you get what you pay for. This motel offer little in ammenities but it never claims to. It was kind of refreshing to stay in a room without TV or any other amenities. The WiFi was spotty which was ok because it kept the kids off...

Do not go to this place. We stayed here because we had no other choice. It was already getting dark and we needed a place to stay and if felt like that fact was taken advantage of because the motel was hugely overpriced. We got the only room that was left available. First of all, it was extremely cold. There...

Stayed in a room here having believed other reviews that this place was "rustic", and "quaint". It is neither. It is just plain old. It is right on the highway so you will have traffic and motorcycle noise all night and then really loud starting about 7am. The drapes are probably original to the property and do not match the...

There are not many choices in Big Sur that have reasonable rates. This "resort" is interesting and gives you the rustic feeling of being in Big Sur. The little general store was quaint and the restaurant was very good. The rooms were also quaint and when first entering the room, it had that cabin-in-the-woods look. But after getting settled we...
