Just minutes from the ocean and the camp-sites are beautiful with great hiking near by.. Love this place... Very good trails and Big Sur is just relaxing and taken in the views. I will go back this coming summer a stay longer.

Gorgeous spot, kids had a blast tubing down the river, staff were so friendly, our favourite campsite on the way down highway 101. At present the 101 doesnt go south beyond this but its well worth the diversion as has such a great feel.

This time of the year the Steelhead runs start, Big River, etc, I think it's all barbless hooks, catch & release though. Also OK trout fishing but to tell you the truth I wouldn't go there for that, but rather head for the foothills and Sierras, where it's great for trout (10+ varieties), steelhead Kokani, etc.
In Big Sur, I'd surf fish or go out on a boat. There are several charters that go out there. Rockfish and Ling Cod (delicious) and plentiful.
