We were very pleased with Bay Tower at Contemporary. We enjoyed the water view and loved the pool with the huge water slide. The cleaning crew kept everything fresh and tidy. The front desk staff was outstanding -- always pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful. If you had any problem of any kind, they would solve it with a smile. They are truly part of the magic at Disney World -- when we had a slight issue with a magic band one front desk lady said, "Oh, let me have it -- all it takes is a little pixie dust!" Problem solved!

This was our fourth family Disney World Trip. Our first as DVC Members. Yay! This was a split stay. 5 nights at BLT, one at Boardwalk. We own at Boardwalk but we closed on our contract too late to get a reservation there so we "settled" for this. I'll explain the Boardwalk night in that review. I was really worried about BLT because I've read and heard so many negative things about the size of the studios, that they were outdated, the pool was sub-par. OMG! DVC people are so spoiled! It was awesome! And I have a lot of experience staying at the full range of hotels and resorts around the world. THE ROOM: Standard view studio. Yes, the TV was very 90sish. And the DVD player hilarious. But, hey, it worked! We watched a DVD from the community hall. Dresser was dated. Who cares?! I was with my husband and our 9-year-old and it was extremely comfortable and spacious. We also got a unicorn room-7314-standard but with actual view of MK. Watched fireworks from balcony. Pure luck- did nothing to get room, no touringplans request, no phone calls, nothing. Pool: Awesome! We all loved it. My son loved it and never wanted to get out of it (so I ended up with an awesome solo night at MK when he didnt want to go back) and he has experienced many, many awesome pools, including Stormalong Bay. Activities: Great community room with lots of activities-free and cheap. Location: I don't think comment is necessary. No matter any negative things anyone says one truth all sane people hold to be self-evident is that it cannot be beat. Of course, going in I knew that would be the upside. But just knowing it is a short walk to MK and the views it would have could not prepare me for the truly magical feeling of actually being constantly in the shadow of MK at all times. Priceless! (Well, except for the tens of thousands of dollars for the DVC contract😉).

Just not great at all. Only redeeming quality is that it is walking distance to MK. Otherwise, it is outdated and feels like drab convention center food hall. The tower was opened in 2009 but contemporary it is not. Bathrooms are beyond motel like quality and missing the sink. Kitchen and regular sinks are in kitchen studio. Room is blah. Decor is blah. Whole place is blah. Food options are bad. Gym is ok. Pool is beyond mediocre. So if I were to do this again- would stay in one of the resorts outside of the parks but in newer and nicer ones. Wi-Fi in the room is just bad bad bad. Their coffee machine is Mr Coffee type! I mean common! Superbly unimpressed.

Just got back from a 5 day stay at BLT, We stayed on the 4th floor, with a lake view. We had a great view of Bay Lake and of the feature pool. Let me also add this resort smells fabulous! We didn't have any interaction with resort staff aside from checking in, the staff that did check us in was super friendly and helpful though! We really enjoyed the proximity of this resort to Magic Kingdom, just a 5 minute walk! Bay lake tower is also super close to the bus transportation when needed, which we never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus this trip which is fantastic compared to other stays at other resorts! Our kids loved the feature pool, and the community center activities, and the poolside activities were fun too! They also really enjoyed the arcade there on our resort day, lots of games to be played. We ventured over to the Contemporary side to check out the shops and our reservation at Steakhouse 71. While we were waiting for our table to dinner my kids were bouncing the spiky balls they got from the arcade, a staff from the concierge desk came over and yelled at them for bouncing the balls, instead of maybe just saying hey friends could you please not bounce those in here would have been a better choice as they would have complied. Gary our server at Steakhouse 71 was fantastic!! Super personable, and spent so much time talking to us! My only cons to this resort which are few and certainly won't deter us from staying here again are, The double sized pull out bed in the deluxe studio, it did accomidate our 2 kids (13&11) but it was tight, the room isn't super huge, but we didn't have any real issues as far as space. The fact that there are absolutely no usb ports in this room was unfortunate, there also were not alot of outlets to plug all of our devices in. The lighting is a bit lacking in the rooms, but again would not deter us from staying again. Lastly, my only other complaint would be the food offerings at the pool bar at the feature pool, there needs to be more options. Will definitely stay here again, actually thinking about buying DVC points here!

We had 4th floor, theme park, 2 bd villa. It was very nice and had 2 balconies to watch the fireworks every night. One room had a King bed and one had 2 Queens. The living area had a couch (double bed) and a chair (single bed). We ate at the Contemporary Chef Mickey, Steakhouse 71 and 'Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. Steakhouse 71 had awesome service and food. Both Check Mickey and 'Ohana are "family style." They are way, way overpriced. The food is mediocre. You get two or three appetizers, side dishes and main entrees and one dessert. Yes, it's unlimited, but at 'Ohana the shrimp were inedible. At least at Chef Mickey's the characters come around alot, dance and kids can get pictures with them. The hotels have take-out and other mini-shops for food/drinks/wine. The Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower are so close to the Magic Kingdom you can walk in less than 10 minutes. There is a walkway from the 5th floor to the 4th floor of the Contemporary where the shops and Chef Mickey are located, making it very convenient. Plus you get the Resort Monorail there. If you want to go to Epcot, you go to the next station, get off and then get on the Monorail to Epcot. Really easy. The crowds from the parking lots were very light, but it is January. The villa was almost $1400 per night (2 bedrooms), plus Disney charges almost $200 per night extra on your bill. Parking was free. Although Bay Tower really doesn't have a "Disney-esque" theme, it was really nice with a jacuzzi tub, separate shower in one room, a full bath in the other room and a third smaller bath (full tub, though) for visitors or those who stay on the foldout beds in the living area. It has a full floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall glass window and you can see the Contemporary, the Monorail, the Grand Floridian Resort, but the Magic Kingdom is the best at night, especially the castle and space mountain. Make sure you check if things will be closed. Part of the pool area was closed (but it was January and we didn't care). Also, there is construction between the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. The fireworks are great every night, too. Planning to go back next year and stay at Bay Tower. It was very quiet, but again, it's January and that's about the lightest attendance of the year at Disney. I can say that with certainty because I've been going to Disney for 50 years and have been at all times of the year. Jan & Feb are best for lines, but it can be colder than one would expect... on night it was 45 degrees... pretty cold if you want to swim.

It's important to note that for this trip we split our time between Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary. For my children ages 10 and 12 the Bay Lake property was their favorite between the two resorts on this vacation and for me it came in a distant second. Despite having MANY conveniences like the monorail, the 5-minute walk to Magic Kingdom, the small size of the resort meaning short walks to everything, the ability to mobile order at the Contempo cafe, it just didn't feel like anything more special than a nice Sheraton to me and the pool was unforgivably bad for a deluxe property. Even the kids who adored Bay Lake had major complaints about how underwhelming the pool was. The front desk staff were lovely but the standouts for us were at the bell desk where Danny and Rachel could be seen regularly going above and beyond for the guests. Manny from Hawaii works the front desk night shift and he's also fantastic. The rooms are clean and modern, and feel like a nice condo in the city. Having been fortunate enough to sample several DVC properties so far at Disney I would sadly rank this one at the bottom end HOWEVER my children heartily disagree with me so I had to up my score to balance our views. We will probably be back for the kids because now that we've had a sample of a monorail resort we're definitely spoiled for the future.

We hadn’t stayed here in 4 years and it was even better than we remembered it. Staff is excellent and bed slept comfortably. We had a 1 bedroom with a Magic Kingdom view, and the room was very spacious. We loved being able to watch the fireworks (and an amazing sunset) from our balcony. We also loved having a 2nd full bathroom. Our only complaint is that the living room seating furniture is still sooo hard and uncomfortable! I wish that could be changed. The location can’t be beat, for ease of access to the Magic Kingdom. All of the cast members that we encountered were friendly, positive and helpful. Kudos to DVC for exceeding our expectations yet again!

We stayed at the Bay Towers and we are shocked by our received treatment. First, the hotel lost our luggage. When I inquired about an update, I was brushed off and told; “things like this happen.” It was several hours for our luggage to be located. Then we were assured that we would receive assistance with accommodations due to the Hurricane. I inquired every day and was told that if there were no rooms at the Contemporary, they would assist with another resort. They did not assist and continually advised to have me speak to the manager. It was finally the night before our checkout and I was advised to check back in the morning (even though the airport was closed). I went ahead and made reservations at another hotel without any assistance and then requested for two hours late check out (1:00 pm) as I figured not many customers were checking in due to the hurricane. We also asked for the late check out because the winds were to subside by then. They responded with; “the villas don’t have a late checkout.” The cast members did not care that we could be potentially stranded (with a child) and further, did not care for our safety. Cast member Sarah would not even provide me with the manager’s name. I am currently at an airport hotel and the customer service is outstanding!!!! Shame on you Disney!

Disney is suffering like a lot of business. As a diehard fan of Disney for over forty years, I was bummed. Feels like the Magic has long term Covid. Some employees are wonderful some are just crabby. Now it feels to me like being anywhere else. The room was fine. Unless you want to bathe your child. The tub was VERY tall like maybe 18 inches or so, then on top the metal slide for shower enclosure. I can imagine older people struggling to step over it to get in to shower. There is NO SEATING available anywhere except your room, restaurant, and lobby. That was an issue for me because the elevator situation was an overall struggle. I have been lucky enough to have been a guest at most of the Disney hotel resorts over the years from value to all of the deluxe options, so when I tell U the parking and the buses are fine options U can believe me. I’ve done most of them more than once. However, the Monorail is priceless if time is money.
