Staff in the restaurant excellent and coped extremely well with our specidfic dietary needs. Food good and some imaginative dishes and presentation. The hotel is modern and clean with friendly receptionists. It is a popular wedding venue as it's in a lovely setting.

My son was getting married there and we couldn't check in until 2.30pm .which wasn't very good when you have traveled quite a distance to get there and the wedding is at 1.30. That was the only thing that I wasn't happy with. Overall lovely hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed you couldn not check in before the wedding. We enjoyed the comfortable room and the lovely bathroom but the hotel still has the feel that its been plonked down in the middle of a field - rather deserted with no character. The Red Lion pub has lots of atmosphere and the food was good. We met friends there for dinner and when we arrived our meal reservation hadn't...

What a wonderful surprise, after a pretty average stay in Edinburgh. Ticked all the right boxes for our kind of hotel. Spacious, comfortable and modern with a feel good air to it. Everything was perfect and the evening meal was so special, as too was the venue - the Red Lion.
