I had communicated with Hotel Football for the booking of rooms through email in October, and their superior hospitality service displayed itself right from the beginning.

And, when we arrived in the early morning hours and the rooms were not ready as the check-in time was at 3pm, we were given options value for money, and we decided to take it up so that we could freshen up as soon as possible.

The staff’s ability to share information and negotiate with me as a guest was amazing, in a very respectable manner and are knowledgable in their products and services. I am very impressed with their ability to perform their duty at the front of house.

It was a such a relief to experience such a lovely hospitality service as well as good quality and clean rooms. Most importantly, we felt secure with a good locking system (with no key card demagnetisation issue or cracked wood on the door bolt area) and had a good night sleep, compared to the ordeal we had to go through during our previous nights in London prior to heading to Manchester.

We stayed at Hotel Football only for a night, and would have stayed longer if not for our morning flight to Geneva.

Great job to all the staff who had attended to us at the Reception as well as the restaurant during our breakfast there. Thank you to all the staff at Hotel Football!

We’ve stayed here on a number of occasions and never been disappointed hence our return custom. The room was clean and showing no signs of wear despite being open 5 years or so and the attention to detail always fascinates us as it continuously hits that high standard. The staff are always welcoming and on hand for service in the bar and cafe area.
We’ve tried a number of meals in Cafe Football and after choosing the Afternoon Tea on this occasion we weren’t disappointed - the savoury and sweet selections we plentiful and a delight. In terms of location we always enjoy a visit to Old Trafford and a walk around the Wharfside and Media City, all of which have plenty to offer including bars and restaurants. We’ll be back.

So here goes, this is the first review I’ve written on here. I usually give feedback at the hotels I stay and share my experiences with friends and family and the occasional tweet. I’ve never felt inspired enough to come in here and share my experience with others though until now. Hotel football is fantastic in every way. Before you arrive they send you a lovely email to say they look forward to your arrival, when you get there the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate and the little touches in them like a mini fridge filled with sweets and drinks, toiletries with a nod to the class of 92’ and a little postcard all of which are complimentary. We also had a little stay safe pack in the room that had a mini hand sanitizer and wipe which to some may seem small but to me it felt like ‘going the extra mile. Isabella also got a signed ball and sticker book.

There is a whole host of places to dine in Manchester but the restaurant located in the hotel ‘cafe football’ holds its own when it comes to quality. It’s clean, bright and very well decorated. The food on show is brilliant and portion sizes are more than kind. All the food on the menu has a quirky name, again with a nod to its football theme. On the first first evening we had a 3 course meal to start we got nachos and for the mains my wife chose a ‘ Mara donner’ pizza and I got a scholesy pudding, my daughter got to choose from very good selection off the the kids menu and while she was waiting they give her crayons and something to colour in. The following day we had a game of two halves afternoon tea and picked the home team. It was absolutely brilliant and so well thought out. We couldn’t finish it as there was so much of it. Throughout our stay ( our little ones first staycation) the whole team couldn’t of been better, very friendly,Always looking to help where possible and made us feel so safe.

They had all the necessary precautions in place but didn’t miss out the customer element that some business are currently forgetting. It felt as close to normal as we’ve had in a very long time. Chanel at the front desk was great and took time to chat and dance with our little girl Isabella which again was a lovely touch.

Thanks for making our stay a very enjoyable one. if hotels got ‘MAN OF THE MATCH’ awards then you’d certainly get our vote. #Teamhotelfootball

We traveled down as 2 fathers and sons, We arrived very early (10am) as we traveled down from Newcastle and wanted to avoid traffic. The staff could not have been more understanding and helpful, our rooms were not ready this early but we had a short walk around old trafford and a quick drink in Cafe football and then the reception staff came to find us to tell us our rooms were now ready 11;45, Brilliant start.

Room,
They upgraded us FOC to a room facing Old trafford and this was very much appreciated, The room is spacious, The mini bar stock with treats for the children and all complimentary, there was a personalised welcome card and a little bag of chocolate footballs waiting for my son. The Beds were extremely comfortable and massive.

The staff were so accomodating and friendly that nohin ws too much, I called reception to ask if I could take my son to see the football pitch on the roof, They called me back within 1 minute to say a memeber of staff was on their way up and would meet us there again brilliant.

The prices at Cafe football were reasonable, Food was lovely and it was £4-% per pint depending on your tipple.

Breakfast was very very nice, A continental style Buffet and then your choice from an extensive a-la-carte menu for your main breakfast.

In summary I would like to thank the staff for making our visit a memeorable one you are a true asset to this property.

I would recommend this hotel to absolutley anyone, Footballers lovers or not.

The staff were lovely and friendly (especially the lady on the front desk), the room was spotlessly clean and the beds were ridiculously comfortable.
2 adults and 2 children stayed in the squad room with a stadium view. As I’ve said, the room was so clean and full of lovely little touches like the mini fridge being filled with treats for the children and chocolate footballs on their pillows. We ordered room service and it was reasonably priced and arrived quickly (still piping hot). The girls enjoyed using the rooftop football pitch on both days.
Perfect location and easy to use the car park adjacent at a £5 charge.
The only reason I would give this hotel a 9/10 rating instead of a 10/10 is due to a very disappointing breakfast. The choice of continental options were pretty good but the hot option was well...cold! The scrambled egg was swimming in water and all four of our breakfast arrived cold. I would definitely not pay for breakfast here next time.
I would certainly still stay at the hotel again and would recommend it to a friend.

2 adults and 3 children had 2 rooms booked and had to pay the rip off price for match day of £250+ for each room.

Only plus point + Rooms are nice and clean.

Kids had been watching you tube to see hotel football and was looking forward to getting the stickers they have for kids but was told none left as it was to busy and some said we don't do them anymore I mean you pay £250+ you know your booked out keep some stock and keep to one excuse.

They had 1 shower gel and shampoo for 1 adult and 2 kids in a room and on top when you ask for more they bring just the one ridiculous.

I wanted to order some food for the kids in the room but was not sure if they did as they had no menus in the room and reception was to busy to let me know and I could not use the café as I did not pre book so not much for the customer who's paying to stay.

I think it was to busy for the staff to handle I dint feel like I got good service at all I actually felt it may have been because I was Asian I hope I'm wrong but just to feel that was not nice.

We visited as family on Halloween as a treat for our two sons as they couldn't trick or treat.
The hotel is spotless, beds are big and comfy and food is delicious. Everything in the rooms was complementary (sweets, crisps, drinks, coffee ect) the fine details are amazing to from the printing on the pillow slips to the numbered shower gel and soaps.
We will definitely be back soon.

Absolutely amazing weekend.
Where to start....as my sons are huge Manchester United fans we decided to book this weekend as a treat for them and an opportunity for us all to spend some time together after a difficult few months.
From the moment we walked through the door we felt safe and knew every possible Covid precaution had been put in place. Social distancing was obvious, staff were wearing masks/visors and hand sanitisers were readily accessible.
As per previous visits our squad room was spotless with amazing views and attention to detail.
The bar and cafe football area was equally as clean with a plentiful choice of food and drink and much to my sons delight a couple of pool tables. Staff remained pleasant and chatty, nothing was too much trouble.

Despite me not being a huge footy fan I enjoyed the atmosphere whilst the football matches were on and thoroughly enjoyed the Q & A with Ryan Giggs. The socially distanced, well organised photo opportunity with him was a welcome surprise to us all, considering the current circumstances.

Chris, Chanel and the team took the time to chat to all the guests and were genuinely interested in ensuring we had the best possible stay.
The little unexpected extras - footy sticker book and lots of stickers, signed picture of Ryan Giggs all added to the experience.

Game of two halves afternoon tea was lovely as was every other meal we had.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone, football fan or not.
We will definitely be back, thanks everyone!

Myself and my husband are currently staying in this hotel. What can I say.. from check in it has been incredible. The staff are very helpful and do everything with a big smile. The room we have is spotless with a view over the stadium. The complimentary fridge full of goodies is a lovely touch. The beds are huge and very comfortable. Towels snowy white and changed after use. The monsoon shower is perfect with complimentary toiletries if you wish to use them. When we arrived (an hour and a half early) our room was available. We were booked in for afternoon tea at 3PM. We had a home and away serving. Just beautiful. Hot food, sandwiches, cakes, scones, filtered coffee and tea. Brilliant. We were not sure about booking breakfast but decided to go for it. We were not disappointed. The quality of ingredients for both the buffet section and the menu were terrific. We also had an afternoon watching football in the cafe. Nice atmosphere with supporters and families enjoying drinks, food and the game. The staff are all hard working and pleasant. A big shout out to Elissa and Liam. Two young people who made our afternoon. They worked hard but still had time to chat and banter. This is an experience I won't forget... and hope to repeat. Cheers everyone for making this a magical birthday xx

Stayed for two nights for the Derby.in a standard twin room at a cost of £798. Given the high cost of the room I would have expected breakfast and parking to be included if wasn’t and not only that I get home today to find we have been charged two lots of £54…

The room (604) was basic, seemed to take an age for hot water to come out of the sink taps yet the shower was perfect. Had to keep switching the tv off and on to get some channels to appear. All sports channels were available including MUTV. No room service which after a four hour drive was disappointing. Instructions to the car park should be included in the booking response as was a nightmare to find.

The breakfast was amazing apart from the gash browns which could be higher quality.

Dinner reservation was hard to get as kept getting told fully booked had to keep reiterating I was staying hot a table at 5pm and there were plenty of empty tables. Dinner was great no complaints here.

Players lounge went here for drinks after the game was a weird layout and felt like an airport lounge. Group of fans in there that were non residents but knew security guard on door and had been let it were pretty lairy.

Ground floor bar we went here as players lounge was very dull this is definitely the best place to be. Great atmosphere eve though we had lost We had a great time in here and would definitely recommend for pre and post match drinks.

The staff were exceptional and all very friendly although was surprised to see them in blue uniform WTF is that about 😊

Not sure if I’d stay again for the price I could have stayed at the Lowry.

Where is the nearest car park and how much is it pls ?
Answer from VegasBristol
Bristol647 contributions23 helpful votes
There is no official hotel car park. But if you contact the hotel they will suggest the Premier Inn across the road. They seem to have an agreement with them and that’s charged at reception. But I think you can also pay as you go in the car park. They also have agreement with a section behind the hotel in Old Trafford stadium with the main car park, but not sure if this is every day. The best option is the Premier Inn.

Yes, there is an outside sitting area on the lower floor of the hotel football hotel, overlooking the Manchester canal, and if you are lucky? (Or not depending on the event you are here for, I.e. Rugby League Grand Final) you will witness some of the guests jumping into the canal and having great fun, albeit a little bit goosed!! Pay it a visit, you won’t be disappointed!!

Yes, as previously described by another. There is a dropping off place right next to the hotel but there are other stopping places nearby like the Premier Inn Old Trafford where you can drop them off and then go and park up. Club Football is only 50 m approx from the Premier Inn Hotel.
