Atholwood is modern, well appointed, welcoming and comfortable, with hospitable hosts, and an excellent breakfast. Sarah and Ian were very helpful in making reservations. There are good restaurants within a 10 minute drive.

I highly recommend adding Atholwood to your stay. Though a little off the beaten path from Nelson, it's convenient to the city, wineries and Abel Tasman. Sarah and Ian treat you like family friends, and are welcoming, gracious and accommodating. Sarah helped us call several locations for bookings and reservations, and provided great advice and maps. Also, the views are...

The accommodation and welcome by Sarah and Ian at Atholwood were both fantastic. We were made to feel very welcome from the word go, just like being at home with none of the work. The views were to die for and only enhanced the tranquility of the location. Being a B&B breakfast was important and never let us down, everything...

Quite fantastic situation, overlooking Waimea Inlet. Set in lovely gardens with great bird life inc resident kingfisher. Wonderful spacious room with quite superb bathroom (we stayed in one of the two guest suites in the main lodge). The suite is on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the inlet and to the Nelson mountains beyond. Sarah and Ian were...

The Atholwood is a unique place located on a dramatic estuary along the coast of the South Island near the Abel Tasman Park. Sarah and Ian have done a fantastic job of providing a warm and comfortable room with a fantastic view. Their property is beautifully landscaped and their hospitality shines through. Wonderful breakfast, great room, kayaking and a swimming...

The Atholwood is in a beautiful location, and it is a quality accommodation with the finest in construction and finishes. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The only negative is that we felt like we were visiting in someone's home and felt a little inhibited.

We loved Atholwood; fantastic rooms and view. We stayed in the Cowdrey Suite and loved it. Run by Sarah who was really friendly and helpful. All the facilities you could want including Wi-Fi and dishwasher. Sarah will do your washing and ironing for 10 NZD. Breakfast also amazing, even allowing you a choice of cooked breakfasts along with all the...

What a lovely place to stay! Great hosts, and amazing views of the estuary. The design and layout of the B&B is top notch, not surprising given Sarah & Ian's background in the construction trade. They have a hot tub and a pool which are well worth trying out. Were staying here as a means to go to Abel Tasman,...

Three truly wonderful nights stay in luxurious accommodation, situated in a quiet location with lovely garden and beautiful views. Ian and Sarah were the perfect friendly and welcoming hosts who did so much to make our stay enjoyable. From all aspects Atholwood would be difficult to beat!

Atholwood is a great option for touring the Abel Tasman region. The Cowdrey Apartment had a great bed and bathroom and we loved the balcony, and it was nice to have our own private spot. The views of the estuary and mountains were beautiful--it's a very peaceful place to spend a couple of days!
