The service was very poor. Food was nice, we had to ask for menus, then had to ask if any veg was coming with the roasts, we then had to ask someone to clear the table, then had to ask if we were going to be offered any desserts. After this we had to go to reception to find someone...

We have been here twice previously and enjoyed it. Last night was dreadful. The girl serving was rude and slow. The food not good with sauces that spoilt the dishes and very poor quantities. We will not be returning.

We booked one night in April to attend a family gathering. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, close to the Celtic Manor golf resort. The rooms are located in a separate newer building to the barn, which was a little diappointing as it is full of charm. But on reflection this is perhaps better, as it is self...

Booked the Old Barn for a 40th Wedding Anniversary celebratory lunch and they did us proud. Picked starters and main course from an extensive menu and gave it to the restaurant the week before. All the traditional Sunday lunches were very good and the 2 having steak said they were outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend and use...

The food was good for the price and the establishment is situated in lovely surroundings. We sat outside because the weather was so nice. To start: goats cheese salad The goats cheese was really tasty. Main: Fish and chips Nice piece of fish however there was a lot of batter and the chips were a little greasy. The batter was...

Nice hotel room, quite large & well decorated. Good free wi-fi. Lots of hot water & at a decent pressure so good shower. Pillows dreadful, thin & cheap. Bit of motorway noise from M4. Why not sort out black mould in bathroom (see pic). No soap in the bathroom - very odd & unhygienic (suspect soap dispenser had been snapped...

So....a Saturday might meal out with family....7 of us. The food was average...I ordered what was described as homemade chicken curry. Now it was a huge portion, at a good price, and was tasty, but no way was it home made! It was so most definitely a ready made curry. My cousin ordered lamb with roast veg....no roast veg, just...

Found this place by accident on the internet, read reviews and booked for two nights. So glad that I did and what a delight to find The Old Barn far removed from the standard, sterile corporate hotels so common these days. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a pleasant surprise, comfortable and nicely fitted including a...

Our dinner/breakfast was incredible, nice selection of food, beer and wine. The staff were lovely, funny and kind. Rooms were a pleasant surprise, modern, comfortable and very quiet. Only suggestion would be extra towels, pillow and blanket on hand in the room

From the outside the old barn is nice looking. The rooms are situated in a seperete block to the pub itself and in general it is clean and well appointed. The evening I checked in there was no internet service and there seemed no hurry in getting it up and running. I booked a table in a the bar area...
