Went here on the way to a training weekend with the national trust Had a stopover and a couple of pints of Hartington bitter, ham rolls and blackcurrant pie. All served very promptly and with a smile Thankyou

We stayed one night to walk Lathkil Dale, which in itself was stunning! Our room was compact, but contained everything we could possibly need, including a well stocked fridge. Clean and comfortable. The view from our window was spectacular. Breakfast, which we chose the night before, was freshly prepared and ready for us. By chance we'd picked April 23rd and...

Quaint, traditional, British country hotel. Food was good, if a little dear, as no other competition in the very small village, very good selection of local ales. Lovely views across fields and dales although we were unfortunate not to have this beautiful view from our room even though there was only one other couple staying during our time. Bedroom was...

Great welcome, friendly local with astounding views. The restaurant was good, tasty food. We also had a table at the Saturday evening wine tasting event with dinner. We were lucky to share a table with three local people who were good company for the evening. The rooms are small but perfectly formed and to be honest we didn't take our...

Great location. Clean room. Beautiful views from my room (I was in room 2). Nice dinner & breakfast. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Only downside is the Wi-Fi signal is not good. Will stay here again, whenever I am in the area. Will recommended this place to all.

We stayed for one night between going to Alton towers and further on into the peaks. Although we booked last minute the pub was able to accommodate our requests and even had a gluten free bread option which impressed us! The room was small which is to be expected above a pub, but had everything we needed. What really made...

What a gem this place is, set in fabulous scenery with top views. The staff were so welcoming and we had a great weekend trying out the different gins and beers, dogs were allowed in the bar so ours tucked themselves in and the puppy entertained fellow drinkers! We tried the restaurant one night, good service and reasonable food too,...

We were very happy with our choice for a weekend stay in the Peak District (our first) even though we had the small room at the back! Unfortunately that was the only room left when we booked, the disadvantage of choosing a small hotel. The room itself was fine, comfy bed, decent size bathroom with bath & shower but lacking...

Visited for lunch. Dog friendly, with a conservatory area for walkers to shed their muddy boots. Dining room is functional 1970s decor, but has the most stunning views - the play of sunlight and showers across the dales was fantastic. Get a window seat if possible. Lunch was a buffet, but with a decent choice. The ham rolls were really...

We stayed in the village for a week and ate several meals in the hotel. The food was tasty and well-presented by staff who were friendly but not pushy. We enjoyed the range of beers, as did our lurcher who made herself comfortable in a corner of the bar. The staff coped well with bar customers as well as with...
