My wife and I were keen to have a quiet weekend exploring part of the beautiful Barrington Tops area of NSW. We chose the Salisbury Lodge because it advertised itself as a Retreat. The promotional photos looked inviting and we decided to visit! We felt misled that the Lake Lodge Studio we booked (and paid more for ) with the...

We had a lovely time at Salisbury Lodge. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed with a lovely bathroom with spa, king size bed, its own kitchen facilities (if you wanted to cook & do your own thing). I marvelled at the use of timbers and natural use of slate tiles in keeping with the beautiful natural surroundings. A...

Outdoor fire and cooking facilities provided. A lovely cooked breakfast provided in the restaurant. Joe and Phillipa incredibly obliging helpful and friendly hosts. Could not ask for any more. My Dad and I booked this accommodation due to the good reviews and proximity to the Barrington Tops walking trails and wasn't disappointed. We arrived to meet Philipa who was very welcoming. We went up to our accommodation and found it a lot bigger than we expected and well set out. We met Joe the jovial Austrian soon after arrival...

The place is really remote, away from any kind of hassle or worry. My wife and I loved our stay here in a spa room, not a big room but we truly enjoyed the spa bath after our walk along the river. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The home cooked style dinner in the restaurant was absolutely delicious...

After a horrendous start to the weekend, my mother and I were looking for a nice getaway near the Upper Allyn where we frequented for the last 20 years. Joe & Phillipa kindly opened their property for us and were so accommodating. The lodges were neat and tidy with the facilities being exceptional. The fire place was great and we...

The location of this property is magical. It is on the fringe of the wilderness of the Barrington Tops region and is a very relaxing getaway. You need to be aware that it is very remote, about 35 kms from Dungog, so if you are self-catering, make sure you don't forget anything you think you will need. We were offered...

Pros, beautiful location. Cons, Rude reception over the phone when we rang from Dungog, told we couldn't check in because she wasn't ready and was told to go to the national park even though we had requested an 11am check in when we booked. No confirmation email to say we were booked in,no return phone call when we rang the night before...

We stayed at Salisbury Lodge for one night in a spa room and were not disappointed. Our room was clean and comfortable and the owners were lovely and very knowledgeable. The verandah looked out onto the national park and we saw plenty of birdlife just by sitting outside at sunset. There are gorgeous bushwalks right outside the gate and a...
