My friend and I booked a night away for a bit of relaxation and to enjoy the spa. The hotel is in a lovely setting with plenty of parking. From the outside it looks lovely, unfortunately we found inside to be tired and not as grand as expected. We had a twin room which was adequate, slightly dated and basic....

We usually choose Chilworth for our pre cruise overnight stay, it's so much nicer than being in the noisy city centre and the food is better too. This time we had a room in the older part of the hotel with lovely views over the garden to the rear. These rooms are slightly larger than the ones in the new...

I stayed here overnight on a business trip. Excellent location and a comfortable room. Dinner was good but the bar is rather impersonal. Staff are pleasant and service was good. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. I will certainly stay here again when I am in the area.

Undergoing refurbishment but this wasn't a problem. However, the mattress had very prominent upholstery buttons and I felt there should have been a cover as they were extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent.

Nice hotel, welcoming and cosy although decor might need some updating. Shame our bedroom was next to a young family's whose baby cried in the middle of the night and early morning. (Especially as we specifically asked for a quiet room when we booked.) Service was excellent when we were served our afternoon tea which was copious. Would recommend the...

This is our second time here as the hotel offers a peaceful weekend break with a yummy quality breakfast. The standard rooms are clean but in need of updating, the furnishings are very 1980's and look tired and worn. Ground floor bedroom windows have no safety catch and if left open anyone can easily break in. Bathrooms need power showers...

We were there for an event everything good about the hotel The evening had a buffet and the food was awful. I have no other complaints and I would recommend the hotel In a nice surrounding in a quiet area, much better than being in the city center.

The original house was extended on a grand scale in the early 20th century for the Fleming family. The gardens retain their Edwardian charm. The house was a hall of residence for the University of Southampton until conversion to a hotel in recent years. There are several car parks, but these get crowded when large meetings are being held in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
BEST WESTERN Chilworth Manor Hotel lies just 4 miles from Southampton, amongst 12 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Right next door to a conservation area, this wonderful retreat is worlds away, but not far away, from the city centre. An Edwardian Manor house, the hotel is an ideal place to get away from it all and is particularly peaceful for romantic breaks! Though close to Southampton city centre and port, and the transport links that take you there, we think you'll find more than enough to keep you occupied here at the hotel. Why not work out in our state-of-the-art leisure facilities, or treat yourself to some quality time in our spa?****FREE WIFI ***** FREE CAR PARKING ***** FREE USE OF HEALTH CLUB***** ... more   less
