While on holiday, we were invited by some friends to join them at the restaurant at this hotel for a birthday dinner. The hotel is fabulously situated right on the beach with lots of surrounding bars and restaurants. The restaurant itself was very good. The good was plentiful. As it was an invitation, we did not see a menu so were not aware of the prices. For starters we had a selection of antipasti dishes, about 20 different types, including seafood, mussels, baked aubergine, polpette, mozzarella, platter of meats and many others. For main course, a platter of grilled meats including lamb, steak and pork with dressed salad and fries and lastly four large pieces of watermelon. For dessert, the birthday cake was passed around together with a selection of 4 other sweet cakes. Overall, a very nice meal in a lovely location. As we visited in September, it was much quieter but I would image in the height of summer, it would be very busy.

We stayed here in April which is early season for Puglia but we were blessed with fantastic weather and were glad of our balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel sits right on the beach with a café restaurant and gelateria, all which were busy morning and lunchtime. We tried the ice cream which was delicious. breakfast was simple but fresh, warm croissants, jam, yoghurts and coffee/juice. Rooms are not huge but have everything you need decent shower and a fridge. Ideally some Italian is needed to get by here, especially at breakfast. Location is great plenty of walking and other restaurants in the area. Only downside no wifi at all the whole time we were there. No private parking but plenty of street parking in the area.

My fiancé and I have just returned from a 3 night break at the Mirage hotel and we can’t wait to return. The hotel itself is simple and clean, perfect for a seaside town. We were lucky enough to get a sea view with a balcony overlooking the beautiful beach, what a treat it was to watch the sunrise and wake to the sound of the turquoise sea lapping at the shore. It was absolute bliss. Breakfast is simple, the fresh pastries and coffee were delicious. We ate twice at the hotel, once for dinner when we had delicious antipasti and some of the best red wine I’ve ever had and once for lunch when we had an abundance of mussels and a delicious white wine frizzante served ice cold. The owner Lucia is a joy, her whole team are so hospitable and friendly. The hotel is within very easy reach of lots of other restaurants and is sat right on the beach. We will be returning with friends and family. Thank you for a perfect weekend!

Since my previous review i returned once again for dinner with friends expecting to be greeted with the same good cuisine that for years have been the reason for my return. Alas not this time. Everything from the starters to the main as well as the pizza were shabby tasting. Ingredients put together without any Style. The waiters have all changed and one waitress with a frown on her face kept interrupting our conversation to ask if all was ok without paying attention to the empty bread basket ..water...or lack of condiments. ..I do hope that the owner who was not around will read this review and put things back the way they were.

Pro's Good beach location. Tolerant of children. Available food and wine options very good. Cons A lot of menu options not availble. Service somewhat slow. Does not cater for those in a hurry. Let's start off by saying that visiting this place out of season, on a bank holiday, was always going to be a good measure of just how good it was and in fairness it did struggle to live up to what was a good reputation. On the recommendation of our holiday rep we had booked ahead for lunchtime on the early May bank holiday in antcipation of much larger than usual crowds for that time of year. This may not have been entirely necessary as when we arrived there were free seats in the restaurant and the town only really appeared to get busy towards the evening. We were already aware that pizzas were off the menu for lunch. I understand that this is a bit of a running theme for most resturants as the ovens take too long to heat up to make it worth running them for a lunchtime service. So if, like me, you like to smash an entire pizza at lunch before sleeping it off for a few hours then this is generally not something that you're going to get out here. With the pizza constraints making about 3 pages of the menu redundant, the waiter was very keen to recommend the linguni for main, an offer which a couple of members of our party took up. The general opinon was that this was good but not really worthy of a house recomendation. Additionally, after peppered mussels for a starter, (the breaded mussels were also not available) it didn't make for the most varied dining expereince. I was quite keen to sample the rissoto but this was a minimum of two. I eventualy settled on some calimari. The service was somewhat slow and more suited to groups who want to drag the gastronomic experience out over the course of the afternoon. The beach location was however, extremely helpful as one of us was able to leave the restarant with the kids while we were waiting and they actually had no problem with us running food onto the beach where my wife enjoyed her salad and chips in the fresh sea breeze whilst keeping an eye on the kids. I suspect that becuase the calimari was listed as a 'secondi', it didn't arrive at the same time as everyone else's mains. This was quickly sorted by a quick word with the waiter and before long I was enjoying some of the best squid I have tasted in a while. In total, 117 euros for 6 adults and 2 children which included starters, mains and wine. The latter of which spent most of it's time down one end of the table as it seemingly slipped down my father's neck rather easily. I would certainly recommend a trip to the adjoing ice cream retailer which we returned to later in the week. Regular fans of my Trip Adviser articles will know that the minumal sarcasm in this review means that I'm giving this place a general 'thumbs up, worth a visit' nod. However, there are better resturants, and those with limited time may wish to sample the delights of other establishments first.
