We booked a 2 night stay in one of the converted railway wagons to quietly celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Booking directly with the holiday park seemed pretty straightforward and an email to ask advice on places to eat generated a friendly and prompt response.
The only criticism I can give is that, on arrival, I found the signage to be a bit confusing - wasn't sure where to park or where reception was. I'd had a stressful few days beforehand and I'm on the autistic spectrum so sometimes clear info is what I need.
When we did find reception we were greeted by Jacky who showed us to our wagon and shared her pride in the site and surrounding area.
The wagons have been lovingly converted by Glynn and so much seems to have been fitted into the space. Workmanship is to a very high standard and the wagon was spotlessly clean on arrival. I will add there isn't a great deal of space inside to relax, other than the bed, so some may find it a little cramped if poor weather prevents you from enjoying the spacious deck area. The wagons have also been positioned to make the most of an unbroken view across the fields with the Cleveland Hills visible in the distance. Some strict rules on behavior mean that the site is very quiet and peaceful - perfect to enjoy the sounds of nature.
Whilst staying we opted for a cooked breakfast in the Curlew Cafe on site - food was delicious and perfectly cooked. As we finished up the cafe began to get quite busy with local customers which is always a good sign.
Staff were always friendly and attentive, nothing at all seemed to be a bother. We booked this stay as we thought the wagon would be wonderfully quirky accommodation, we weren't disappointed. We only live an hour away and have our own static caravan in Northumberland so the chances of booking another stay here are pretty slim but it's certainly the type of place I'd happily return to.

We booked very last min and added the romance package - a bottle of Prosecco, chocolate dipped strawberries and breakfast for two. We were blown away by how lovely this place is

We arrived for lunch - 2 lovely fish finger sandwiches, then hand fed the animals.

We were shown to our Railway Wagon by Jacky and nothing was too much trouble.

We visited the bar and all the staff were friendly and chatty - and we had some of the best cocktails I’ve tasted!! Jacky gave us some lovely cake to take back to our wagon too!

The wagons have been lovingly converted to an impeccable standard and have everything you could need! The bed was lovely and comfortable and the en suite was great.

Our breakfast arrived in a lovely cute basket and was amazing.

We really do hope this little gem goes from strength to strength

What an amazing stay that felt a million miles away from our normal busy week

What a lively site, great views, clean shower block with lots of hot water.

Had a drink on the patio of the cafe and shared the meat and cheese platter, not always a fan of craft ales but after being offer a sample by the host i enjoyed a pint of the session IPA.

Great little animal park that kids would live.

Highly recommended as is the Kynren show.

One of the friendliest glamping campsites I have ever experienced. We rented a Wagon and an electric hookup for our campervan. The little glamping Wagon was perfect, with everything you need for a self catering stay, including a bathroom. If there was an issue, it was dealt with immediately. The general facilities were also very good. We had breakfast and dinner, including cocktails! at the cafe, and also enjoyed bingo night. Recommend a trip into Barnard Castle too. And the Royal Chef takeaway in Bishop Auckland.

A perfect little place ! Despite the weather , we had a lovely time . We will return to this site . In fact I can't think of any negatives at all . Well done to Jacky , Simon , Glynn and Amy for being so welcoming and friendly . The Curlew Cafe is really cosy with nice food , and the amenities are spotless . There's an added bonus of an animal paddock for the children and a little play park . Our little grandson loved it ! Just book it , you won't regret it .

We stayed in one of the railway carriages, they are wonderful and so neat and well equipped. The family were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. The animals are lovely and well loved and looked after.
There was so much to see and do in the area. We could not fault our stay at High farm, we had such a lovely time!
Thank you all so much for making us welcome and our visit so enjoyable ♥️♥️♥️
