This pub has got a great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. It was an ideal choice for taking the family group of 8, we had a separate little area on our own. The food was excellent, most people had the roast, the portions were generous and it was good value for money.

Husband took me here for my birthday. Have been a few times before and always lovely food and great friendly staff. I had pate starter, husband had tempura prawns with dip really lovely. I had pesto chicken with lovely fresh veg and husband had the steak. All cooked to perfection. No room for dessert.

The Court House is a permanent fixture for me and my friends whenever we're in the area. This little gem of a pub is set in beautiful countryside and is itself a lovely, interesting old building. The food is superb, and the service is very prompt. Nothing is ever to much trouble. The greatest asset is the landlady and her...

A perfect overnight stay in comfortable, spotlessly clean surroundings with faultless facilities including toiletries, tea / coffee , bottled water, TV and wifi connection. The welcoming hosts created a very friendly atmosphere from arrival and provided excellent service, particularly during breakfast which was well cooked, very filling and taken at a reasonable hour. The restaurant also indulged with a good quality,...

Stayed in Red Rum for two nights with breakfast. Breakfast cooked to order to your taste (I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs, husband had the full English) at a time to suit you. Comfortable accommodation, powerful shower, excellent internet in our room. Faultless service and friendliness you don't usually find in chain hotels! Lots of outdoor seating/patio - just...

Went for a birthday meal, had a lovely meal, food was better than pub food and the staff are so helpful. I wanted a desert that wasn't on the menu and they came through with it! Nice Atmosphere too, our first time there. Definitely will be going back. The chalets on site look lovely too so when friends come to...

Friendly atmosphere. The proprieter was very helpful, especially as we had not booked in advance. We had a vegetarian in the group with specific dietary requirements. The chef made a special dish, which was delicious. Generous portions of food at a very reasonable price. We will certainly recommend this to our friends and will visit again. Thanks.

Enjoyed Sunday lunch here with two good friends last weekend. Food was excellent we had the Sunday roast but what made it even more enjoyable was the banter with the waiting staff whose sense of humour made our day !! They were busy but fitted us in with no problems. Meals were tasty hot and freshly prepared so no complaints...

We stayed here for 3 nights in two of the chalet rooms. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean and as well as having tea and coffee making facilities, bottles of water were supplied every day which was very much appreciated in the warm weather. Good shower in the bathroom and one very positive point - the hot water...

We rang the hotel direct and asked for a twin room. It was £75 without breakfast. We wanted somewhere near Colchester, not too close, with parking. It is less than ten minutes drive into town. You will see rooms that face onto the carpark, these must be the double rooms that are newly decorated and slightly more expensive. When we...
