We booked this hotel for a stopover on our way south to the Dordogne in June. It was a lovely, well decorated, modern hotel situated on a small country crossroads. Our room was very spacious and light and airy. The bed was comfortable and there was a lovely shower. The breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from before making...

Typical French hospitality, hotel locked up and no one at home on arrival. Eventually let in a whole hour after time of opening on door. No apology. Room ok, breakfast basic, poor quality coffee. Crazy arrangement for door opening after hours, needs changing. Supposed to have wifi but non existent for four days.

Stayed here as it was close to where I was working. What a gem!. The service was so good, we sat in the garden and were bought drinks and nibbles. The hotel was very clean and contemporary. Very modern decor. Great shower and large spacious room. Just everything was perfect. A great place to stay

We drive down to Poitu Charente 2/3 times a year and this provides the perfect stop more or less halfway. They remember our little quirks every time and could not be more pleasant/helpful, restaurant next door is good value. not much else nearby. Rooms are spotless with wi Fi. The area looks lovely worth 2 nights 20 minutes from Le...

We booked this as a stop over from Switzerland to the ferry in Roscoff and my what a delight it was! The hotel is in a charming village not far from the motorway and is in a very quiet location. The whole place was immaculately clean and the room we had was amazing. We rented to suite at the top...

A lovely hotel with friendly staff, pleasant rooms and a good breakfast. Our stay was only spoiled by huge empty lorries rattling over a roundabout directly below our window throughout the night; there was possibly some infrastructure work going on nearby.

Planning our route south, we were looking for a hotel with a family room. It being a bank holiday, the usual chains were all full, but booking.com suggested Hotel St Aubin, at a very reasonable 97 Euro. The village of Cheville is tiny and tucked away about 20 miles west of Le Mans, with little more than a church and...

This year we returned and stayed 2 nights. Still as perfect as last year. There's obviously a lot of renovation going on but it certainly has. It damaged this perfect, hidden gem. If you are wanting to go into Le Mans it's the perfect stop over being approx 25 miles away- we drove part way and then did park and...

We travel through France at least twice a year and have had some awful experiences. We arrived here and it looked like a normal little auberge in a small French village, although better kept up than many. Initially I was concerned as there was no one there and a contact phone number left( we were rather early). My French is...

We stayed for one night on our return from the Pays Basque & upgraded to the grande chambre. Stunning though it is recommended that you get a brief of operating the bath and the taps in the main bathroom. We managed the bath after squirting water in several directions but couldn't grasp led robinets. Grand, spacious overlooking the spectacular church....
