As a welfare NGO Badisa West Coast Region made use of Dunn's Castle for a workshop for the first time recently. With trepidation we asked them for a quote since our local social worker had to be close to her lovely three month old baby. What a surprise when they gave us as regional NGO a special price for our...

Due to my work, I am constantly on the road, and sleeping mostly in guesthouses. I have read Ansie's review, and I am sorry to say that some people don't appreciate culture and uniqueness. Dunn's Castle was build in 1907, so yes "she" is old, but definitely not filthy. In actual fact I have slept over at numerous of guesthouses...

Surreal! In the worst possible way. We stayed in the King Suite, carpets were filthy, actually everything felt dirty. Got offered a Palmolive soad marked in Koki pen at 8,99 and a quarter bottle of bubble bath... the bath taps fell off. You have to creep past a pillar in a passage to get to the weirdest bathroom we have...

We booked in a rush while on the road. The whole advert was about a Herbert baker house. When we arrived we realized there was am flat block in front of house where we stayed. So the unit we stayed in was all fine but had no shower. The real problem is that you don't necessarily stay in old house....

Wonderful setting, splendid panoramic view, friendly service. Castle is something special to see. We stayed at self-catering. But, at the price we expected quite a bit better self-catering facilities Self-catering lacking many basic items: Clean & tidy room, Towels and bedding included (clean & fresh) Absent: no dish washing soap, no dish cloth No wine glasses Cutlery very very basic,...

I stayed for 3 months and found the establishment to be very efficiently run with extremely friendly management and staff who are prepared to go the extra yard. The accommodation is comfortable and the shower is always hot! I will not hesitate to stay there again should the need arise.

This 62 bed guest hous eis situated near De Hoek close to the town of Piketberg. Accommodation is acceptable with neat and tidy rooms. Views is excellent. Ideal stop over if you are in the area. Lesley (the manageress) went out of her way to accommodate our needs.

I visited the castle at least twice this year. The age of the castle is what makes it unique with an atmosphere only the castle can bring. Fantastic views and excellent service from Lezley and Conrad. If you want to unwind, relax and have a good time, the castle is the place to go. Also had friends over and even...

This place immediately reminded us of the TV series "Hotel Hell" as everything about it was like an episode of the show! The entire place is shocking! 1. Stains on the walls, carpets, bedding and ceilings! I would have slept in a sleeping bag if I had one! 2. The place is spooky and the castle itself had NO guests,...

I believe that this comment is very unnecessary as the premises are currently under renovation and plain for all to see. All the newer self catering units have recently been renovated inside and the exteriors are currently in process. The unit being commented on is normally used for contractors and was the only unit available online. The Castle itself is...

It's important to differentiate between the service and the facilities. The service was good, and the staff very friendly, but the facilities were not great. The bathroom wasn't clean, and the unit not self catering as advertised.
