Stayed here recently with a group of 27 students. Great location just 5 minutes to the beach - ideal for the students to let off some steam after a long journey. If you're arriving with a coach - check ahead for parking as the approach is down a narrow lane. Rob and team were really friendly and helpful and the...

Friendly, great breakfasts, well stocked kitchen, reasonable showers. Basic rooms, not updated and not many power sockets. 10 mins walk to the beach (or 75 mins to the next one) Blustery weather, rain and 30secs of sun compulsory on a walk round the headland! (Look out for Dartmoor ponies) We will stay longer next time!

Yes, please visit again, we love it when people embrace the landscape and our traditional hostel surroundings. The weather, though changeable, has warmed up lately - we were swimming in the sea last week! Bliss.

in a quiet location but easy to access local attractions and a great pub less than a mile walk away. Near to local beach which we did not get to but it is described as one of the best beaches in Cornwall. Planning to come back next year. Staff were friendly as they tend to be in all youth hostels.

Excellent traditional youth hostel that is frequented mainly by dedicated outdoor pursuit enthusiasts. There are also quite a lot if older people who use it as a base for visiting the many gardens in Cornwall. The hostel offers catering as well as self-catering and is blessed by not being lumbered with a licence to serve alcohol. For the poorly informed...

Agreed, we are ideally located for garden and nature enthusiasts; but less well located for city lovers. Thanks for your recognition of YHA volunteers - they are wonderful people who give so much.

I had a one night stopover on my way to Falmouth the following day. This hostel is well run and clean. I had a 2 course meal for £8.50 which was great! You can keep in touch with the outside world if you need to with a good wifi connection but beware that as the hostel is tucked in a...

Nice manager couple, good food, clean rooms and bathrooms and a good spot. The bedding is very comfortable. Would like some more rooms for 4 personnes. The kitchen was nice and clean. Could do with a second sink though

Thanks for your feedback, we'll make a note of your points about the rooms and kitchen if we are able to get funds for a refit in future. We're a charity with centrally administered budgets for repairs so these things sometimes take longer than we wish. However 4 of our 10 bedrooms sleep 4 which isn't a bad ratio. Our...

Firstly, I have to say that my poor rating doesn't reflect on the staff or the appearance/cleanliness of this hostel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were nice and clean. The problems with this hostel are the isolation of its location and its lack of necessary technological amenities. The hostel has no Wi-Fi and is outside of mobile...

Thanks for your comments. We’d like to mention that we now have free WIFI and the phone-line is back in working order! Sure, getting around on public transport in any remote area like Boswinger certainly takes a bit of forward planning, and at the weekend particularly it can be tricky. With this in mind, we’ve made the transport information on...

This hostel is outstandingly good. It is brilliantly sited within walking distance of two lovely beaches, mind you it is a steep walk. It is tucked away on the edge of the village and very relaxing and peaceful. Rob and his team do a brilliant job; the hostel is warm and welcoming as well as being spotlessly clean. The rooms...

The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the surroundings are pretty. All the usual YHA amenities. Unfortunately, there is no phone signal, no 3G/4G/data service, and the hostel has no wireless (as of May 2015).

We arrived with 24 boys after a long trip from Kent - The welcome could not have been warmer. The Staff were friendly and helpful and seemed totally unconcerned by the hordes of 10-15yr old boys descending upon them. The rooms were basic, but spotless. The heating and showers were efficient and easy to use. Breakfast was plentiful and again...
