This hotel is undergoing a refurbishment. Our bathroom in room 111 definitely needs an update. It is just serviceable and the shower leaves a lot to be desired. Despite these comments it was clean and comfortable. At $165/night including a smorgasbord breakfast I thought it was good value considering its location. The breakfast was plentiful, bacon very nice along with...

Stayed for two nights. Had a nice renovated room on the first floor. Nice large TV on the wall opposite the bed. Bathroom was very nice but not a lot of room by the basin for toiletries. Big shower cubicle with good water pressure. Staff were really friendly. The breakfast is nice with a good choice. Not a big car...

this hotel isn't to bad for the price the breakfast is good shower pressure is low probably helped by a water saver. Must admit I hate showers that just dribble out we were unlucky enough to get one of these. The room itself was large and bed comfy with good size TV staff pleasant and overall a good stay.

We were travelling on a trip of a lifetime over the course of a month and had already experienced 3 very good hotels, so we're extremely disappointed with "The Rex". The main entrance was very smart and showed real promise but as we got our key and entered the lift, we read the notice about the hotel undergoing refurbishment. As...

Hotels get old .There is a need to continually refresh tired buildings. I believe this is about to happen , but is hasn't happened yet . I changed from a family suite at the The Aria Hotel ( about 700 meters further north) to this hotel ( also location of my conference ) , oh boy that was a change...

I stayed here for two nights for a conference. I was fortunate enough to be in one of the renovated rooms and it was excellent value for money including breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, shower was good, great quality toiletries. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast food options were good. I didn't have room service but the...

I was recently invited to attend an event at the Hotel Rex. I usually category this hotel as an option out of my price range. However I was pleased and surprised at the cost offered. I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The Hotel does live up to its reputation. I found it very well appointed, quality fixtures, comfortable bed....

The room we stayed in was adequate but needs an upgrade ASAP (which is happening soonish). The best thing about the room was King Size bed which was very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water but the shower head was about 150cm up from the bottom of the bath so being 183cm I had to stoop all the time...

During our stay we occupied both a two bedroom serviced apartment & also a one bedroom executive room (complete with private sauna). Both apartment & room were newly completed, immaculate & well thought out. Both were extremely roomy & beds were a delight. Buffet breakfast was great & dinner was very nice food wise although wait staff (although friendly) could...

On recommendation I ordered the pork belly with pan seared scallops and chips as a side and was served burnt (really obviously) chips, burnt pork belly that was overcooked to the hilt and 'pan seared scallops' that have never even seen a pan. The staff were good in trying to rectify the situation but, the chef had already left before...
