We stayed there this month and it was OK for the night. The room was basic but clean although some renovation works were ongoing. The shower was hot and the bed was comfortable and so I guess you really don't need much more!!. The garden mulching machine at 7.00am was not welcomed but the location was great and the restaurant...

Treated ourselves to a private room here, and it didn't disappoint. Was heavenly for a backpacker and we extended our stay. Staff were really nice, they even picked us up from the coach station and gave us a little tour on the way.

I checked in 27th Feb. My intention was to come here do farmwork, however due to the time of year there wasn't too much hope. Having spoken to a number of the other backpackers, it seems that the only good chance of getting your 88 days signed off is between October and January. the layout is very different to most....

I found it hard sleeping in a room right across from the bar/restaurant, getting to sleep was hard enough with there being no air-conditioning and having to deal with the noise coming across from the bar till late and add on getting woken up by people yelling or slamming door. To find the reception for the accommodation you have to...

If you are over the age of 25 then forget about this dump. If you like staying awake all night while the backpackers get on the booze by all means stay there. There is a small light fixed to the wall which is useless. There is no table or chairs in the room, so sit on the floor. There is...

Ok , the Hoey Moey offers great affordable food and excellent entertainment. If you are considering staying overnight after eating the great food and enjoying the excellent entertainment , then DONT. If you are under the age of 25 and are travelling the country on a tourist visa and don't mind listening to drunken, loud, swearing people partying on cheap...

The reviews of this hotel prepared us for a cheap night's stay very close to the beach and that what we got. The rooms are old but clean. No AC but a fan. The blonde "office" lady must be used to handling backpackers as her first instructions on our arrival as to where not to park the car needed a...

This is more than a hostel it is a family of backpackers and the friendliest staff! I spent 6 months living at the Hoey while completing my farm work and living the best lifestyle on the beach. There is no where else I would rather have done my farm work. Frank is so helpful and doing his best to find...

After receiving confirmation of my booking for a 10 day stay before leaving home, I arrived in Coffs @4pm on a Sunday( following a 4 hr train trip) only to be told I was too OLD! & not a holder if an international passport. None of this was stated upfront. So a most distressing start to what should have been...

The rooms and bathrooms and clean and comfortable. The staff at the hostel are friendly and helpful. It does get very noisy at night but it didn't matter too much to us as we only stayed for two nights. The hostel is a bit of a walk from the harbour and bars and restaurants but very close to the beach.
