Was a bit apprehensive not having stayed in a hostel before, but I had nothing to worry about. Good location - only a 10 minute walk to darling harbour. Easy walk to the light rail station to get to other areas of the city e.g circular quay. Thought the bar area was great, friendly people. Rooms were nothing flash, but... More

Lord Wolseley is above a quaint bar. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We had rented the deluxe room with the bathroom included. It's on the top floor and there are only stairs but we were fine with that. They have many different kinds of rooms. Locks on the doors. Tv and internet. Everything is clean and cozy. There's a... We had a pleasant lunch here sitting out in the park. A mixed crowd of older locals and younger travellers. Great ambience! It's "the narrowest pub in Sydney" of great historical significance. The menu is simple but the food was delicious. If you smoke, you won't be harassed sitting outside!

The Lord Wolseley has location (close to light rail 2 blocks) and low cost. The pub downstairs and small restaurant bustle each night. The accommodations are very basic, small, marginally clean, and left me wondering if I should seek something better ( after arriving). With some maintenance, a good scrub, and a refreshed set of towels it would be charming,... More

I love this place. If you can find cheaper accommodation this close to the city you are doing very well. The staff are great. The rooms are not big but neither is the tariff. I've stayed in a private room and a dorm now and both have been clean and tidy. For sure, it's not glamorous but it's safe, cheap,... More

This place is just great. It's got a fantastic vibe and is a really popular local spot. If you like being close to the city, getting a good Sydney city vibe and don't mind the room needing a bit of TLC as long as the bed linen is fresh and clean then you will enjoy staying here for a night... Not centrally located to downtown, more like a 15 minute walk. The people in the other rooms were quiet. There's a bar underneath the bedrooms so it depends on what day it is if it's loud all through the night. One shower working and two toilets per floor, which seemed to be adequate. They weren't terribly clean but not disgusting.... More

This is a great little pub that's true to the heritage of the area. It's a bit like taking a step back in time. The pubs seems to serve the old regulars and younger punters really well, and there's a lovely beer garden out the front for warmer evenings. Dunno about the accommodation side of things, but definitely a top... More

The check-in was easy, just went into the pub and they gave me the key. I had to carry my bags up the narrow stairs to get to the dorm room. The room was pretty small with 2 sets of bunk beds, so 4 beds in total. They did provide lockers under the bed and asked you to store your... More

The lady behind the bar was so helpful when we checked in, she even gave us her book to borrow to check out some tourist info. Clean, basic room with a small kitchen to make food. The price was great for a short walk into the centre.
