The room was really small and had a terrible moldy smell. Immediate turn off. It was right by a bunch of night clubs though, so we encountered a lot of drunk people when heading back to the hotel in the evening and there was music late at night coming from the clubs. It is definitely not a family-friendly area and...

Hello Olivia, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us at The Bayswater Sydney. We are truly sorry that the location of the hotel was a disappointment. Friday and Saturday nights can be lively in Sydney and bars are never to far from anywhere in our city. We certainly hope that this will...

We have stayed in the Hotel twice in three months. It is not the only hotel we use in Sydney but for events proximate to the location it is a good deal. The Hotel does not provide a food service or other five star services but it does its job vert well. Comfortable rooms, air con etc.

we really enjoyed the location of the hotel. The stuff was friendly and the room was very clean. The negatives were the size of the room (very small) and the lack of good reception for the phone and WiFi. I would come back if I wanted to stay in Kings Cross location.

Great location for your stay in Sydney! Rooms clean and bed comfy! Bathrooms ridiculously small, but functional. Front desk staff very informative, gave lots of good suggestions on food, transportation etc.. Very close to rail station, restaurants and many bars.. Only disadvantage is that this neighborhood is definitely for the YOUNGER travelers.. many clubs, bars, nightlife is very active, but...

The room was clean... but SMALL. Water leaked from the shower onto the floor of the bathroom. The WyFi was not available for the entire stay.... it had a limit and then we were asked to pay for more time... not good.

Surrounded by bars, Restaurants and Supermarked and opposite the railwaystation Kings Cross. A neighborhood worth weil exploring. In the same street we found the newly opened Jewish Museum which is interesting to visit.

the main advantage of this hotel versus competition is the value for money - a fair price for a a very good location, close to the center and main touristic objectives like Opera building or Botanic Garden (walking distance), with a lot of options for public transportation, friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms (even if you choose the budget options),...

Chose this hotel for a few days in Sydney at the end of a cruise. It was a short taxi ride from the Overseas Passenger Terminal to the hotel (less than $20 Australian) although it's also an easy train ride, if luggage isn't a concern. The room is smaller than our cabin on the ship but very comfortable. It's just...

We stayed in Bayswater's for 5 nights. Reception was open 24 h and people were always friendly and helped us whenever we had questions. Best thing is the location of the hotel; you are few metres from kings cross, where you can reach all the nice places in just minutes.

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighbourhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
