Detailed Reviews
Stayed here 4 nights as Accor member at a sale price. Location is great with main World Square building across road with Coles, plenty of places to eat. Light rail, museum and town hall stations close by. Easy check in. Room is small as described but comfortable. No handtowels. Had a room adjacent to the lift so expected noise but still managed to sleep fine. Aircon did not have automatic setting to adjust to heat to desired temperature if needed. Was either cold air or colder air. With aircon off room is stuffy. Signs on bed and the welcome card said room would not be serviced so wasn't expecting anyone to come, but the room was serviced, towels changed and bed made. There is a coin operated laundry in basement. Wash $5 is quick( 28 mins ) and dryer is huge so gets the job done quickly as well ($4).
Might stay again if aircon issue can be resolved.

We stayed here four times during August. The first room was small but adequate, while the second was larger; however, the king-sized bed did not quite fit which meant only one bedside table and climbing over the bed to get in it. The third room which we also had on our fourth visit, also had a king-sized bed but having two bedside tables meant that access to the wardrobe was difficult. The bathrooms were to the standard Ibis style with their own toiletries. A cascading noise could be heard outside each of our rooms, which we took to be the lift operating. There was also some traffic noise from the street outside. Breakfast selection was cereal and hot food only; no cold meats and cheeses. Bread selection was fair and sometimes included muffins and fruit bread as well as sliced white, multigrain and wholemeal. WiFi was very flakey.

The hotel is located right in the city center with walking distance to China Town and the famous gay district Oxford Street. The hotel is aged but most facilities still well function. The front desk is served by a nice filipino lady & another lady from HK who has a bad attitude, she throw my credit card on the floor when return it to me after check-in. The room that I booked does not come with breakfast so I asked front desk to add in the breakfast charge to my stay and they'd charged the additional amount in my card, but restaurant couldn't find my name on their list and requested me to pay again, so I'd paid twice for the breakfast, there seems like there is no communication between the two party. Complaint to the hotel but no feedback until the day I check out.
The room is ok, the floor of the bathroom will be flooded if you take a shower.
I wouldn't particularly want to stay there if it wasnt near the place I wanted to go, but will not choose to stay in this hotel again.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback, I was most concerned to read a staff member threw your credit card on the floor. After checking the video footage, we can see that this did not happen. It is disappointing to read your review after seeing the footage. I wish you all the best.

This small hotel is walking distance to Central Station and the Capitol Theatre.
The staff were very friendly and professional.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and followed all Covid protocols. The room was well appointed (including complementry tea/coffee and toiletries)
The smallish room was ideal for a short stay. Lots of cafes and bars close
by.Chinatown is about 5 minutes walk away.
Overnight parking is available at World Square (cost $50 using 'Secure Parking' app) and 3 minutes walk from hotel.

The general manager remembered me from my previous stay in Nov2016. She hasn't aged a day! I checked in on a Tuesday before Good Friday. It was an upcoming public holiday and was expecting a crowded hotel even with the COVID crisis. Luckily she was able to assign us a room before noon. It was awesome considering I just entered into the country on a red-eye flight and getting a hot shower within three hours upon landing. The rooms are a bit tight, but that's normal for hotel rooms in city center for the price you pay. Breakfast buffet spread is more than adequate... filling but not exotic enough for my taste. Location is great and I can walk everywhere. Again, nothing to complain about.

I have been staying here regularly for almost a decade and the staff truly make it feel like home every single time. Whenever we arrive, we are greeted by Jay, Sher and Ina enthusiastically along with other front desk staff and they always make sure the rooms are prepared for us after a long and tiring flight. They get very busy at times but they will stop to pay attention to your needs like they have known you forever even if it was your first stay here. The housekeeping staff make it a point to keep the rooms cozy with great attention to detail in the cleanliness of the rooms. It never feels like things are out of place and the consistency of the housekeeping service, given that there are so many guests staying at this specific hotel, is truly remarkable.
The location cannot be beat with the convenience of groceries, pharmacies, shops and dining options nearby. Their own pizza is awesome too! Not to mention you get a simple but filling breakfast that’s quite appetizing for both western and asian palettes. Darling Harbor and Chinatown is just a short walk away and even the Opera House at Circular Quay is a good walking exercise if you don’t fancy taking the tram close by.
I would always make it a point to consider Ibis World Square as my number one go-to accommodation here in Sydney for me and my family. I know Jay, Sher and Ina will take care of them like they did with me and my crew. You guys are the best in our Airline’s network!

We will never stay at this hotel again. They have the homeless stay there and the paying guest are treated like 2nd class citizens. The homeless are constantly smoking and drinking around the main entrance. We felt very unsafe each time entering the left. And entering and leaving the hotel.
On arrival we were told our rooms would not be serviced for the 9 days stay. - there is no mention of this on the web site. We found out the homeless have their room serviced. Also no breakfast and food was available, this again was not on the web site.
The rooms are extremely small and when we asked if we could pay for an upgrade it was promptly met with a no.
All this appalling service does not bode well for the ibis brand.

Dear johnanddallas, Your feedback is important to us, and I thank you. It is disappointing to read your review, I am sorry we let you down. We do service rooms on request. I am sorry your were not informed on arrival, however I do understand your room was serviced once the correct information was given. We have found during Covid most guest prefer not staff to go into the rooms unless permission is given. Our breakfast room has been closed for over a year now and all Web sites were informed as this is a standard practice. We will follow up with Booking.com. Please note we have our Grab&Go menu available 24 hours and continental box breakfast is also available. I understand our team offered you the breakfast. I am sorry you felt unsafe, please always let us know and we will do our best to assist you. We are in a very exciting location and surrounded by many venues. I wish you good health and again I am sorry we let you down.

This Hotel is our go-to when we come to Sydney. It is so convenient less than a block from the train station and we find it easy to access the city of Sydney from the Ibis. The staff are just so helpful. It says something that from the the front desk to the dining room, staff are still there since we first stayed there over 10 years ago. A very well managed Hotel and cleanliness is impeccable.

I stayed for one night as I needed to be close to World Square. The hotel is not in World Square, which is a modern building, but across the road. The bare room had badly chipped paint on the dark wall and worn, thin, marked carpet. The air conditioning control is operated by reception, and one air-conditioning unit shared over I was told 10 rooms - you cannot adjust the air conditioning from within the room which was extremely frustrating. A large sign on the shower box asks you to use hairdryers and aerosols inside the bathroom or you may be liable for a $1600 call out fee to the NSW fire department if the fire alarm goes off. The shower leaked over the bathroom floor and the glass shower doors bang loudly which you could also hear from the next room. The staff were very pleasant. Any Accor members looking for a comfortable stay I would recommend Hotel Morris which I called in to see when passing only half a block away and newly opened.

The room was small and the bathroom the smallest I have ever been in. The shower leaks all over the floor, so no getting dressed in there after your shower. There is a night club next door and the rooms are not soundproof.
The buffet breakfast was really good value and a great range of food.
The check in is chaotic, phones ringing so you keep getting asked to wait.
Key card for room and lift needed to be reloaded all the time as it didn't work Location was central to areas of interest you could walk everywhere.

There is not a designated tour desk person as I recall. We found the desk attendants to be extremely helpful with all of our inquiries. Sometimes tours booked in advance can be a better price depending on your currency conversion rates.
Depends on how much luggage you have. A taxi to the city is not that expensive from the airport especially if there is at least 2 or more of you it will be cheaper than buying individual train tickets. The next easiest (& quickest) way from airport is the train to Central station, but tickets are around $15-$18 (it has been a while since I have caught the train) from there you can either walk about 10-15 minutes, or get a taxi about 5 minutes drive. Alternatively you can get off at Museum station and again walk (only 5 minutes away). I hope this helps.
