Stayed here many years ago, this time disappointed. The view is great but the rooms are becoming very dated. Rang before arrival to request the queen bed be made in to single beds as I was sharing room with sister. On arrival beds not separated but were told after requesting again that it would be sorted of course on return...

I stayed here for the second year in a row after I had such an enjoyable experience last time. I was staying on business, so it worked really well location wise and was really spacious with bar/ restaurant/ gym which is great for a lone traveller. Unfortunately i was pretty disappointed by the room this time- no views at all...

Rooms are neat and tidy. The view from my room overlooked harbour and was great. Disappointed that for the amount you pay wifi was not provided in room but an additional cost. Probably need to note that there is a big hill you need to climb when walking in off of George St, which isn't good if you are not...

My brother & I were in Sydney for the Crowded House Concert. We wanted to day a day before the concert, because we wanted an extra night in Sydney. Chose this as it was close to the area (Circular Quay). Great place and view. Enjoyed our stay and the beds were comfortable. I would stay here again.

The Quay West did not feel like a four star hotel at all. Instead it felt like the sort of hotel you would go to on a school trip. As soon as the taxi pulled up we had our suspicions, and sure enough we had to bring our suitcases in ourselves - totally unacceptable. Then we entered the lobby, which...

The hotel is older and in need of modernising but the location and views are priceless. The staff goes out of their way for excellent service. The breakfast is underwhelming but the indoor pools are worth a swim. I'd recommend

This hotel is in a great location and if you go for a grand harbour view suite you get fabulous views. Our suite was well equipped with an en suite master bedroom, 2nd double bedroom with separate shower room, kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and mini bar, it also came with a washing machine and tumble dryer, the suite although large...

We stayed here for 8 nights for a seminar Fittings were reasonably high quality and although we only ordered room service once it was very tasty and pretty good value for money compared to a lot of places. We had a 1 King Bed City room and didn't expect a harbour view. We had a view of the harbour and...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
