Bed was uncomfortable, ran it's life and is very lumpy and sagging. Needs to be replaced. Air conditioning did not work properly. Asked 2 times to fix since remote control did not work. I was told by the staff to just reach up and hit the on/off button. I could not control temperature room always got too hot and I... More

Great location, but the room and service were very disappointing. The service was faulty towers like until we checked out. The only good service we received the whole stay, but then when we got home we found we were over charged. I can't say anything positive about check in and the room was below standard. Not to mention we didn't... More

I was very impressed by the condition of my room, Everything gleamed and it was a very generous size with a balcony as well. It is well situated, right between Darling Harbour and Chinatown. Town Hall was the most convenient station. There is no restaurant but there are plenty of them within a ten minute radius. My room on the... More

I stayed at APX on the long weekend, and i must say that i was impressed with the quality of this place for the money. The service was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and clean, although the spare blanket could have done with a wash. The bed was comfortable, the pillows not so much. Definitely take your own if you... More

We normally stay in the Darling Harbour area as it is close to many Sydney attractions. This stay we were at the APX Apartments. Pros: 1. Decent rate for a room that is close to many Sydney attractions. 2. Staff extremely helpful with arranging a taxi ride for us on our day of departure. 3. Free wifi. Cons: 1. We... More

We arrived late 11m ish after a hellish day of traveling to find the room a little dirty but more importantly.....no hot water!! The staff had no idea or interest in dealing with it. The hot water was stone cold be the staff's response was 'maybe everyone on your floor is having a shower'. Yeah right, at midnight!! We left... More

This isn’t a hotel is more apartments, also like you are staying in someone’s apartment. It was pretty clean and had a balcony which was handy the room was also huge. The... More

Room very clean and spacious, with microwave, cutlery, pots and pans, etc. Right in the heart of Chinatown, with all the eating places you could wish for. Short walk to Darling Harbour, ferries, buses, etc. Handy position. Very enjoyable stay

I had a very positive experience staying at this hotel. The street was initially hard to find even with the GPS as it doesn't look like a street, more a walkway. The hotel was very accommodating when I called to ask if we could arrive at 11am and leave our car in the parking lot and check in at a... More

We have stayed at these apartments on two occasions as they are well located for Darling Harbour, Cockle Bay, Capital Theatre, Restaurants and city shopping. Rooms are a bit tired but usable. Easy parking underneath but way overpriced at $50 per night. A $200 lean on your credit card for 'incidentals' is taken on arrival and this can take some... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
