Admittedly, when I arrived at this hostel (the final destination on my 3 month trip) I was just about done with hostel life, however I don't think this influenced my feelings towards this hostel in particular too dramatically. No issues with the staff I will say, they were all very lovely, friendly and helpful, but the facilities are just not...

Staff was unpleasant, new owners completely took the life out of the place. Cockroaches everywhere even in the kitchen. Would definitely not stay here again. Way overpriced for what it was..... there are much better hostels in kings cross

This hostel is one full of superlatives, which is normally a good thing, but in this case it is for all the wrong reasons. It has the smallest rooms, the shabbiest beds, the dirtiest toilets, the loudest noises, and the smelliest mattresses amongst numerous other problems. Upon arrival I was placed into cell 104 which I was startled to find...

It's so so so noisy outside because of the bars that the hostels windows can't stop the noise..., from people singing and laughing outside and motorcycles... Even with the earplugs, it's still too too noisy! Now it's already 1:30am, I still can't fall asleep because of the terrible noise, so I have nothing to do but write down this review.😡

My friend and I stayed here for two nights whilst in Sydney backpacking. It one of the worst hostels we've stayed at. Yes the rooms only sleep for which I prefer but they are tiny, messy and dirty. My pillow case and duvet cover were dirty so I asked reception if they could put a fresh set on, only to...

Fair play to what the new owners/management have done to it, but when they moved in they treated us long termers who had been living in the old funkhouse for as long as 7 months with no respect what so ever !! So for me the new owners killed every top vibe that place had brought to my australian experience,...

I really like Funkhouse when I was there. Everyone was super nice and we even got upgraded for free to a private room which was awesome! However, three weeks after staying there I found out I had lice! (EW!) and when I went through my hair, I found out I had it for about 3 weeks...suspicious??? Just be careful

The hostel was very damp with buckets everywhere to catch water dripping. The room was ok, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We thought the hostel had a very unfriendly vibe, everyone except from one guy at front desk were rude. The location was good, so close to kings cross station. Would not stay for more than...

They have a common area with a big tv, kitchen and a roof top. It's located close to metro (Kings Cross) BUT the room's smells bad, small, not even soup in the bathroom... metres is good but the blanket smells awful too...wifi doesn't work well... wouldn't recommend...
