We had stayed here for three weeks last year and this time we booked for four weeks, staying in a room on the 6th floor: not luxurious, but definitely clean comfortable and adequately sized, with a double bed. There was also a couch, table and a refrigerator and wall mounted television. A kettle and tea/coffee makings were supplied. There was...

The Ibis budget Sydney East was a great base for our stay in Sydney. No, this isn't a luxury hotel. But, it was exactly as expected: clean, comfortable (I LOVED the bed), and well-placed within the city. We found that we could walk to many sights in Sydney, including the Australian Museum, Hyde Park, Hyde Park Barracks, Mrs. Macquarie's Chair/Point...

Good clean room in good location it is a budget hotel but furnished quiet well. My main problem is the price on the nights I stayed $365 for 2 nights)I could have stated in the Mecure for $40 cheaper or the Sheraton on the park for $20 more. If the price is around $50AUS a night then its Ok but...

Hotel is right smack in King's Cross. Takes 15-20 minutes walk to Sydney CBD, so please keep this in mind if you're going. King's Cross train station is just a few minutes away but I didn't find spending $3 to get to the next station closest to the CBD.

I opted for a quiet room away from the main road as recommended by reception. Then found that the hallway noise is crazy loud. Doors slam heavily and most of the doors need to be oiled as they almost all squeal loudly when opened and closed (seriously Ibis...get some oil on the doors). Despite the large heavy doors in to...

This is a good budget hotel located about 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross Station, so it's ideal if you're coming from the airport, and is very handy to all the cheap eats around Kings Cross. Perhaps 20-30 mins. walk to Wolloomooloo and the CBD if you want to explore the City on foot, as we did. Hotel room was...

The hotel is located close to shops and restaurants. Train station - King Cross is just around the corner. Staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable. It is reasonably clean but attention to the cleanness in the bathroom require, particularly the walls, toilet bowl and floor. A ventilation fan in the bathroom will be helpful with air circulation....

Had two nights here in August. Discovered to our joy that we had a room with superb views across to the harbour bridge and opera house. Just perfect! The room was quite basic but clean and had everything we needed. The self-service breakfast was pretty good and excellent value for money. The staff were really helpful, giving us access to...

We stayed at Ibis budget only for one night. It is rather small for 2 adults and 1 child. Can't open your luggage once the sofa bed is fully open but close to Coles and Woolworth. Walking distance to St Mary Church and Hyde Park. Recommended for someone who does not want to spend more than $150 per night for...

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
