Very convenient place next to the Sydney Central railway station, lots of good cheap restaurants, busses everywhere and quite good pubs. Hostel itself is clean and well run, although on the expensive side for a hostel. Te room we were in was quite big, but no lockers or cupboards at all. Excellent kitchens with lots of room and equipment. The...

Location and price were perfect for the City2Surf run. It's a bit of a walk from central station through the tunnels if you don't know the way, but once you have done it before, it becomes a quick walk- note, there are stairs to lift your luggage. We stayed in the carriages which was fine, most people we met there...

Stayed there for a week in June in a dorm converted from a from a train carriage, and it was a very unique experience to stay 'right beside a station platform'. No worries though, the sound insulation was perfectly done and it was very comfortable. The only complain for the hostel is that the kitchen is a little disorganised with...

Hi Matchmantravel Thanks for your review and feedback, which is very important to us. This hostel has a large kitchen with lots of cooking areas. One double cooking point was broken over a weekend recently, but it was repaired on the Monday and everything is now fully working. Enjoy your trip to Australia.

I stayed in a quadshare in the main building - rooms are a decent size, I found the lockers a little on the small side. Enough sockets and very clean bathrooms. The kitchen is nice and clean, and the lounge is nicely furnished. The hostel itself is very charming, with the rail carriages outside, and lots of quirky artwork. Location...

I've stayed there a couple of times over the last few years. It's hands down cleaner and friendlier than any other backpackers I've been to in this country, and even though there's plenty of action in the communal areas the noise doesn't travel into the rooms. Great location, easy to get to the train station (a street over), bus station...

My wife and I stayed 1 night at this hostel for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. We had a double ensuite room, which was a really good size, plenty of room for our packs etc. The ensuite/shower was capacious with excellent instant hot water. The room had the usual YHA bed, with a double bed under a...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Tiger-flanked archways on Dixon Street mark the entrance to the “little Asia” of Sydney. A walk through Chinatown is a feast for the senses where aromas, tastes, sounds and visions of dancing tigers transport you to a different world. Chinatown visitors can expect a melting pot of Asian food at the neighbourhood's specialty delis and groceries. From yum cha to handmade noodles, BBQ ducks hanging in the window to Asian sweets and bakeries, there is something for all tastes. Paddy’s Markets is the largest flea market in Sydney where you can find souvenirs, clothing, gifts and fruit and vegetables at unbeatable prices. At night, Chinatown comes alive with entertainment including theatre, nightclubs and bars that are open until the early morning.
