If you arrive from Circular Quay train station there are many steps to climb, coming from Wynyard Station it is a relatively pleasant upward walk. The hosts Linda and James are friendly and welcoming and the accommodation adequate with good breakfasts in a garden setting. The "Parkes" rooms are groundfloor, and daily serviced, however there were only 3 mugs. Plates...

This hotel B n B was exceptional. My husband and I stayed here for three nights at the end of our Australian adventure. It was perfect and all we expected and more. It was close to everything and the service was exceptional! I hope to come back and stay here again!

Unfortunately, I can not review the hotel because we never got to stay there! There was an incident happening. My husband happen to knock down a picture in the hallway. That was an accident going to happen anytime because it was hanging on a small nail. If it had been on a proper hook this would never have happened. The...

Dear KerstinJWoongarrah I am disappointed to learn that your expectations of your time with us were not met – particularly with regards to service, as this does not reflect our usual high standards. Whilst we appreciate accidents will always occur, it is unfortunately the reaction which followed. For example - "How about I pay you 1 cent, thats it for...

We stayed two nights and had great access to the Opera House, the ferries and numerous ferries. It's a charming place that's a bit quirky. Breakfast was fantastic! The owners are very helpful. They provided car service to the airport in a late model luxury car that was much cheaper than Uber. The Harbor Bridge is just up the street...

My partner and I stayed here for a concert at the opera house and this was the perfect location. We loved that the place had lots of character and found the place to be super clean and comfortable. The owners were extremely friendly and accomodating too!

We were very disappointed in the general presentation of the cottage with dated furniture, appliances, no air con (a fan) upstairs bedroom balcony external door doesn't close but there was an internal gate that is lockable. The standard of cleanliness was well below average with a lot of dust on fan extractor, lamps, skirting boards, cupboards, blinds. There was no...

Dear CMXNZ Thank you for taking the time to write your experience and above all staying with us. We believe we may have not hit the mark with a few cleanliness (dust) issues but as always we will strive to remedy that straight away and lift the bar for the next guests - our apologies. In relation to your other...

We stayed her overnight and it was in a great location for the harbour, opera house and restaurants. Our room was very comfortable and we had a bathroom next door to ourselves. We were on the top floor so had to carry our bags upstairs which may be hard for some people. The breakfast was very good with several choices...

For a central location for train, sea and walking this B & B is perfect. Very friendly hosts, reasonably comfortable rooms and special attention to breakfasts this accommodation was reasonably priced. Access is a bit of an issue with stairs to climb from the street and stairs up two floors for some rooms inside. But overall a handy and worthwhile place to...

I enjoyed my 3 nights stay. I had a room with an own bathroom and opera house view. It was very cosy and comfy. But don't expect 4 star hotel standard, but for a short city trip absolutely fine. The location in "the Rocks" is top. The owners were friendly and helpful.

James and Linda looked after us like we were old friends. Great atmosphere and comfortable rooms. Breakfast in the garden was delicious and created with fresh produce. We will make it our Sydney home for trips in future.

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
