I have just spent two amazing days in Sydney, perfect because our accommodation was so good. My daughter and I grabbed an opportunity to catch up and found Verona Guest house. It was beautiful! The old terrace house is so perfectly restored. It was comfortable and included all of the thoughtful inclusions a traveller appreciates. The highlight was the delicious...

I arrived to the Guest House and it was presented very well. I found my room and was then given a tour by the owner. My room had a television with digital channels and air con. Then there is a shared lounge with FOXTEL and a kitchen to help yourself to tea and coffee etc. The room was very clean...

I've been delaying writing a review of the Verona, debating exactly what I would say. I would have loved to give it five stars, I really would, but I can't. The first sign that all is not as it should be, is that the owner has disconnected the front door bell (because, she said, people were ringing it day and...

Thanks Janet, I was genuinely unaware you were so unhappy here. I made sure I was at reception 20 minutes after your domestic flight as that is how long a taxi takes. For those arriving via public transport and airport shuttle, I cannot ascertain an arrival time. Consequently, I explained to you via email where your key would be. February...

The Verona Guest House is a fantastic place to stay if you're visiting Sydney. The house itself is beautiful and historic and the surrounding area has tons of fun shops and restaurants. It's an easy bus ride to the heart of Sydney (or a lovely hour long stroll). The accommodations were clean and breakfast was lovely. The best part was...

We stayed here for a total of 4 nights in January. What a wonderful place. The hostess is just amazing with information. The house is right on a bus line so it is convenient to everywhere! Breakfast is really good with eggs, toast, granola, coffee, fruit, juice and great company. Our room was #1 on the main floor and was...

Stayed here for 5 days. Quick and friendly check in by Julienne. Indeed for our whole stay she went out of her way to help, advise and generally make things as pleasant and as stress free as possible. Our room was spacious and very clean. Bed and pillows were comfy, bedding and towels of good quality. Room was serviced every...

I stayed with my daughter. The place is clean, quiet, great breakfast and not far into central by bus or light rail. Owner is very helpful. Lots of good restaurants right outside your door. I will definitely come back here when I go to Sydney again.

Wonderful service including baggage assistance, transport and tourist advice, prepared and cooked breakfast every day. The property is historic to the area and only minutes to the CBD. The rooms were exceptionally presented and clean. We could hear no traffic noise at night. Hotels, cafes and other shops across the road or easy walking. Parking was no problem, we stayed...

We have stayed in many places in Glebe and surrounds and wished we had found this sooner. Great location near the harbour and light rail and a short walk down to the restaurants and Paramatta Road. We also wanted to go to the Glebe craft market on Saturday and we were not disappointed. The Guest House is run by the...

Staying in Glebe

Neighbourhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
